I think nailing down the dates and writing them in stone is the first order of business and relatively easy to agree and set. Centralized activities and a single hotel to all stay at will be a longer and more drawn out (rightfully so) process...
we'll have to access all the pro's and cons and benefits (possible free-b's) of all possible locations and then set up a straw poll. Seems like a good plan, @Derg, @jskibo, @ATN_Pilot, @JEP

Just like the non-unJC's, we will never get everyone in the same hotel (Price, Points, Location, Don't want others to see the toothless hookers I bring home, or any variety of reasons). Great to list the deals and just let everyone choose what suits them. We're all pilots so the low cost places will always have the highest percentage of freaks, I mean fellow pilots staying there.

Better to set up some of the activities (I assume Craps is a given and will happen everywhere) and dates / proposed times (Lunch at Palms?, Hike?, Take over bar patio?) and let the folks migrate to what suits them best.

If we follow the traditional model, it would be Friday night or Saturday night set place for drinks gathering to start, Saturday or Sunday morning'ish hike at red rock / burgers before or after.

As a long-time pylon racing enthusiast, I initially scoffed Red Bull "air racing" after seeing an early proto-demo at the Reno races in the late 90s.

In 2008 or so, while living over in the UK, a bunch of my squadronmates were going to watch the London race and invited me along. I went with them, just thinking I'd enjoy the beer and camaraderie even if I thought the event was stupid.

A funny thing happened...I really enjoyed watching the race!

So, I'll gladly fork over my money to watch in person again.

Since pilots are notoriously awful about making dining/entertainment decisions as a group and just keep saying "I don't care, where do you want to go," (cue layover flashbacks), I'll go ahead and propose a schedule, and everyone can amend from there:

Saturday, Oct. 17th
Drinking/snacks at Cabo Wabo - 8pm
Drunken craps with Gulley (@DPApilot) until 5am

Sunday, Oct. 18th
In N Out - 1pm
Hike - After lunch
Dinner at Sirico's (NYNY) - 7pm
Drinks at 9FI - 8pm
More drunken craps with Gulley constantly yelling "Come on shooter!"

Monday, Oct 19th
Lunch at The Palm (restaurant not casino) - 1pm
Dinner at the buffet at The Palms (casino, not the restaurant) - 7pm
Even more drunken craps with Gulley, assuming he hasn't gotten himself arrested yet
