Delta TA

Thoughts on that @ATN_Pilot and @Trip7?

It's a strong argument made by C20. Very factual. Can't argue against that.

It's a high stakes poker match. The question every pilot will have to answer with a vote is do you think Anderson is bluffing and if he is, is there enough value to extract left that it's worth going back to the table.

Please.

Go around acting? Any perception you have of that is due to your own lack of self confidence. Stop intimating yourself. You have post self pity parties on several occasions. I'm not going to feel sorry for you getting your feelings hurt.

I thought the same thing...wanna go have a pity party on the beach?

Yeah man, but first lemme just have a pity party for myself that I'm not doing a cross-country commute to JFK for a job I haven't even applied for. You know, the block of 13 days off here at home on the beach has been really, really rough.

Why are you rationalizing if it doesn't matter to you. If Delta is the JFK job you're doing this imaginary commute to, let me add that new hires are holding LAX. In fact, some ER LAX spots were available to a recent new hire class. Hope you factor that in to your rationalizing.

Disclaimer:
If this post comes across as I'm better than you, I humbly apologize :)

Oh, I'm not rationalizing anything. We're just having a little fun at your expense is all.

Semantics. Call it anything you'd like. The plane that isn't on property. The first plane under 100 seats flown by mainline pilots in decades.

Negative.

DC-9-10. 76 Seats. NWA operated them until 2005.

Paid the same as all the other DC-9s. $195/hr at it's peak, I believe, and that was in 2004. $237 in today's dollars, or about the same as the proposed 2018 rates, assuming there is zero inflation from now until then.

The DC-9-30s had exactly 100 seats, and they were operated well into the merger.

If you could hang onto a light DC-9-10 in the winter, and could land the same in a gusty 38kt crosswind on a runway who's braking action was measured by "Bob & his truck" you were l33t enough to fly anything that came after.

Let us not forget that you had the Bubba's flying the 737-200. How many did they hold? They were retired when, 2006ish?

Great update as well! I texted Bill and thanked him as well.

DUDE...you should taking up surfing, I hear it's good for the soul (or some hippy/Cali BS/something another)...and while you're at it, have a Stone beer...it's not a pity party unless you're drinking by yourself :D

They held 100 seats. Used to commute on them to De-toilet all the time. Hated to see them go and get replaced by the RJs.

Tell him I said hi and he's still the man, even if I disagree with him. :)

Nice to watch this one from the outside, but considering my own shop is about to break out in a council versus council "civil war" of sorts, we've got our own drama taking place.

Edit: I moved these posts from the American Airlines/USAirways/America West thread since I didn't want to take over that discussion with non sequitur posts about my own shop.

Can I place a bet on Council 20? I may disagree with them, but if there's going to be a fight, you don't bet against those dudes. :)

Oh, it's more than just Council 20.

I'm shocked 66 hasn't started secession talks yet.

108 is getting fiesty because well, lets just say it's the chairman versus the vice chairman and the rest of the pilot base.

It's bad, Jones. Bad.

Ugh. As you said, much better to be able to watch from the outside.

Eeeeeeeeehh..

Factions, lots of factions. We've got a faction of people that are elected. A strong faction of appointees that aren't elected but appointed who lobby the elected representatives. A "new school" batch of people and an old school batch of people.

And there is a crap-ton of "counter intelligence" going on.

There's a lot "our councils yes vote didn't mean we affirm that it was a good TA, we just think you should vote on it" versus "our yes vote means it's awesome!" versus "What the hell is this shizzle?"

A lot of chatter on the backchannel.

I'm not a DPA guy at all. We just need to put our big boy pants on, turn the lights on and filter some people back to the line because they're making hard on the good people doing hard work for the pilot group.

Ugh. LOL. I see what you mean.

When does the voting window open and close?
