Delta TA

No, clearly anyone who has flown a DC-9 variant is a superior aviator. :)

But only if they flew the real DC-9. The 88 and the 717 wish they were DC9s. But yes, you got the superior part correct just included too many wannabes in your description.

I disagree. Having a child does not entitle an individual to special benefits if those who do not have children aren't granted the same. Probably an unpopular opinion but life choices have consequences.

As AutoThrust said, that's nice, but if you're sick, you're sick. Doesn't matter how you got that way. Should I NOT have gotten intermittent FMLA because a member of my family was very sick and someone else's wasn't? Had to do that a couple of years ago. Life choices have consequences, yes, but not everyone's life is the same. I'm guessing you don't like I get a tax break for having a kid, either? It's not like anyone hides the benefits/drawbacks. Personally, I'd LOVE to be able to run off to the movies without a baby sitter or use my travel benefits. There's trade offs every where. You can't just say "That's not fair that X person gets that and I don't because I chose differently." But this is all an argument for another thread and will for SURE wind up in the Lav.....

No it isn't. My stated opinion has nothing to do with the hiring process. Having a child is a life changing event and as responsible adults we should adjust our personal lifestyles if we choose that path. If it means one parent stays at home to raise the child(ren) so be it.
Yeah, we're not talking about one person staying at home to raise the kid. We're talking about a house full of sick people, here. Besides, good luck having ANY household where one person works and the other stays home. Add a couple (and I've only got one) of kids to the mix, and it's even tougher. I'm the only bread winner because my wife stays home, not because she wants to because of health issues. It's tough, and I make around $100k a year and don't go way overboard on spending, vacations, etc.

I respect people that choose not to have kids. Don't be the entitlement guy that looks down your nose and accuses other people of being irresponsible because you don't have all the facts or feel you're being treated unfairly for some reason.

717 and EMB-195 should be the same pay scale at Delta.

*My opinion*

They are the best 190 rates in the world. 2ndly, they are fantastic compared to C2012 rates. Lastly, it's the first RJ to return to mainline. Let's get the plane on property and in 3 years we can enter that battle. This contract is up 2 years before A's current deal is up.

Oh dear.

The planes are likely coming regardless. The rates are already on the books so saying that the order depends on the outcome of the TA is rediculous. Are we really so stupid as to believe that fleet plan decisions are solely based on a pilot contract? Really? Come on @Trip7. I guess I was giving you too much credit as to think even you wouldn't believe such nonsense.

See that's the problem. It's not a RJ. It should be equivelant to the 717.

"Let's get the plane on property and in 3 yrs we can enter that battle."

Ahh the old dangling of the carrot trick.

Semantics. Call it anything you'd like. The plane that isn't on property. The first plane under 100 seats flown by mainline pilots in decades.

Mainline growth at industry leading rates. Where do I sign up?

USAirways says hi

The mainline growth is unavoidable. A publicly traded company that is profitable isn't looking to shrink and far less likely to outsource its core product which for Southernjets is domestic service to its hubs. JV is a far greater threat currently to our careers and that language isn't exactly earth shattering in this deal.
