Any Frontier guys here?

As an ex-F9 dispatcher (I left in early 2012), I can say the people that I worked with were great and the atmosphere was even better. Sad to see them going to ULCC model and I do wish them success

From the outside looking in, its been looking like F9 has been preparing for this merger ahead of the merger itself. Start streamlining the product and routes beforehand actually makes a lot of sense (is it legal?). I give this a "likely" in the kingairerquessometer.

US Airways did it with the United merger. They abandoned BWI allowing SWA in there. At the time it was thought there was no way the Justice Dept would approve of a merger with a carrier owning all 3 DC area airports. Also don't forget the United codeshare we had until when, sometime last year? That went on for something like 15 years, also done around the same time. That merger prep was a major reason they entered bankruptcy the first time, they used all their cash buying back stock making the merger more attractive.

Few things. Either an IPO will happen very soon, or it won't be for a while. Pilot contract opens up next year and it wouldn't make sense to IPO in the middle of a labor dispute. As for a merger, Indigo stands to make more money from the IPO and growth from that. Then down the road as both spirit and frontier start to level off on wall street, start up the merger drums which would ideally cause stocks to rise even more.

Who told you the IPO and contract talks are related?

Gotcha. I think it will end out just fine for y'all in the long term. I just think a merger is going to happen before that!

Depends on a few things. SLI will be big. Lots of guys with high DOH numbers in Denver. Both sides don't want a merger for that reason. Plus with both sides in or about to be in contract negotiations it will complicate things even more. FAPA to take care of the contract would be good. ALPA on property during a merger with another ALPA carrier would be better. No more IBT. Ever.

Sounds like more of trading older Smaller airbuses for the larger ones....230 seats on an A321? "I cant feel my legs, class".
More likely trading out the 319s for the 20s and 21s. Although, they will have to keep some 319s for the Trenton market.
