skywest...

I made it a point to order some Polygamy Porter when I was there one day with lunch.

Affirmative.

OP, I'm in the pointy end and not in the swivel-chair brigade, but if you have questions about the company overall, I'd be happy to chat.

Where?

It's a fair question since I live here I haven't found many places to drink.

One of my old co-workers joined the Elks Lodge there to have a place to go drink. When I was there I just did so at restaurants but they didn't have any hard liquor for sale, I don't think. Utah has some of the weirdest liquor laws on the books that I have ever seen. And of course, the one place to buy hard liquor legally in this state that apparently hates drinking is at a state-owned liquor store.

I knocked a few of those back in Moab a few months ago. Utah actually has some fine beers. I'll be having some more there in a few weeks while conquering southern Utah!

I used to live in northern Arizona....and yes, Mormon chicks dig homebrew. Get them away from their ward and they can't resist!

SGU isn't for everyone...the town pretty much shuts down at 10pm and you have the weird liquor laws. Also 3.2% beer. But what are you coming here to do? Drink some beers or advance your career in dispatch? Ask yourself and do your research on the community. Mesquite is right around the corner, and as others have mentioned don't forget about Vegas. The drive takes a little less than two hours and you are working a schedule of 4 on, 3 off. Plenty of time for a good time to be had.

As far as SkyWest is concerned, it's a great company that treats its employees well. I think that's worth a lot and not found too often these days. You will work desks with both CRJs and ERJs, and start off at a wage that's worth getting out of bed for. OT is usually available for those who want it.

My only complaints are the high prices for single-family homes and the fact that you have only three options for travel: SLC, Denver, or the shuttle to Vegas.

Also, yes to homebrew!

I'll take learn and advance my dispatch career for 500 Alex.

SkyWest is a great gig. Higher pay for the regionals. Lots of flight bennies for you and your friends. Lots of outdoor stuff and Vegas is 2 hours away. Highly recommend SkyWest and SGU. Great weather, great views, and good people in the office. I am sad to be leaving.
