Where'd you move onto man?
IF I'm able to get this CFI done in May or June (assuming that KOMA stops hindering me with crap weather). I might try to make a run at it. Few questions though.
1. Sounds like that area is just busy in general. I'm assuming that this might not be a gig for someone who has ink drying on their cert. Would getting a healthy amount of dual time help?
2. Ok so pay... What's a average annual salary out there? Yes I know some of it depends on how much you fly cents and stuff. But is it livable? Or am I getting another gig at In-N-Out?
A new CFI would be fine, I think they want you to have your CFII though. Yes the airspace is really busy, you would just have to take the time to learn it. Starting salary is 28k, then 30k after 1 year. I think they pay more if you have your MEI. Phoenix is livable on that salary if you have a studio apt/ 1 bed or roommate situation.
Could they pay for say the CFII and MEI. Or am I reaching too much?
Apartment wise as long as it has a garage and I'm not shot at and the car isn't broken into then I'll be fine. I can totally do a studio if needed.
Their job application said a month ago that only CFI was required and an iPad. Not only that but it said no problem if you didn't have your CFII, they'd pay for the training to get it done. Glad I'm getting both this summer. I've been tracking them for awhile as that's the top place I'd like to be...but hoping maybe for AF also.Could they pay for say the CFII and MEI. Yes. We want to utilize you in all phases of our training programs. Having your CFII is very important, infact we are happy to help you get your CFII if you do not already have the add-on. If you would like to get your MEI, employees are eligible for discounts on training based on time with the company. You can schedule your training flights on your days off or after your scheduled flights are complete.
@jskibo any ideas on why they changed it to CFII required now? Wonder if I should contact Amy to just get my name in the hat early or not.

Their website clearly hasn't been updated with the application though...if anyone is worried.
Don't know. I only contacted them once to ask some questions.
Seems like their requirements float around like an airline pricing model. Whatever it takes to fill a class, then back to the norm.
