Skw CRJ Landing incident LAX, plus airport ARFF info

Quick question, just arm-chair quarterbacking here, but is the normal passenger boarding door the best choice for egressing out of the aircraft with an obvious gear problem? I figure if the nose gear lets go, some passenger is going to "Trebuchet".

Now that would make for some good TV. What would be better, the actual incident or the anchors overreaction?

That's what we were told. 8). Want them stepping out on a non level wing?

The alternatives being to let them out over the wing that has fuel in it and was just dragged across the pavement at 130 knots or to jump 5 feet out the galley door with the same fear of the nose collapsing? I'd go for the Main Cabin Door.

Just curious. From my angle from the comfortable leather couch, it looks like it as only resting on the nosegear but if they had a right main, it makes sense now.

I love the comments saying they dumped some fuel before landing. Also notice how the reporter says "the pilot" did a great job. Don't they know there are two pilots and a flight attendant and together they make up A CREW!

That's why we don't try to raise the flaps during the landing rollout. Sometimes you grab the wrong handle.

Too soon?

(The above was an attempt at humor. I have no clue what transpired)
They do put them out during pushback, a procedure I personally wrinkle my large nose up at.
