Penair is coming to Portland

If the Saab lovefest is over: Will you guys be overnighting there?

I ask because I have overnighted there more than I care to remember. On the surface, it seems like a cool, woodsy, rural ocean town. But of course, being all of those things, it's also kind of methy. I believe the prison is the main economy up there now so most things look worn out and faded and the people aren't exactly beacons of happiness.

We stayed at a rather sad hotel near a beach but overlooking a trailer park. No, not a mobile home community. A ratty collection of single wides that were in decrepit condition. And from driving around there, I don't believe there was a much better option for hotels.

Food? There was meh Hawaiian place in the "downtown" area, but that's about it.

Also enjoy the 1 week or so out of the year when your plane accumulates frost on the overnight and the the airport's jalopy de-icer breaks in the first 2 minutes. You'll be waiting for the sun to deice the plane for you!

All that whining aside, CEC definitely needs air service being so isolated. And there is an impressive amount of natural beauty if you're mobile and can explore.
Hahaha. Good to know. I dont plan on doing the flying down there. But I will warn them. We will be overnighting there.
@ASpilot2be

Did it have the Universal FMS?
I am not sure. Well before my time.

Duuuuuuuuuude... you want me to steal some of my patients anti-depressents for you in hte morning during med identification. EVERYTHING is always a negative with you!

At least @Cherokee_Cruiser might cut, just to let his sadness out to greet the sunlight!

I'm a happy guy, I don't need no stinkin' anti-depressents.

Actually given the recent light of events, I won't even joke about this subject. Carry on...

It may be a bear to fly, but looks like my cat with the mumps.

Just heard this past week that AS might drop the degree requirement for the next round of open window

They are pretty seriously considering it. But they want to drop it so when someone that's a 7k hour captain at Virgin or Allegiant that has all sorts of awesome volunteer and life experience but only an AA degree applies, they can consider them. It won't change the competitive minimums anytime soon other than that aspect.
