German Wings A320 crashed

Because those of us who consider Airbus design philosophy to be dangerous would never bid it.
I'm just curious what design philosophy you're talking about...

Most arguments I see towards Airbus being crap is the fly-by-wire...but the new 777 and 787 are using fly-by-wire. It seems to have quiet down the "If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going" argument. Clearly still running strong.

The BEA press conference provided more questions than answers. They've heard the CVR from TOD to impact, are not ready to comment and nothing is ruled out.
They said that? Hmm this was posted recently today...

But as of early afternoon, a senior official involved in the investigation said analysts had so far been unsuccessful in retrieving any information from the cockpit voice recorder.

The official said that workers on the scene had found the casing of the second black box, the flight data recorder, which investigators had hoped would provide significant information about the flight, including its speed, altitude and direction. But he said that the crash had severely damaged the box, and that the vital memory chip inside it had been dislodged.

The director of France's aviation investigative agency says audio has been recovered from the cockpit recorder salvaged from the crash of the Germanwings plane in the Alps.

Remi Jouty says the material includes sound and voices, and was extracted Wednesday afternoon from the mangled black box recovered from a mountainside.

Jouty says it was too early to draw conclusions from the recording. The case of the second black box, the flight data recorder, has been found, but not its contents, French President Francois Hollande said minutes earlier.

Jouty says he couldn't confirm that the case of the second black box had been recovered

Hate to be that guy but...controlled descent into terrain with no communications? Hoping for passed out pilots and not a suicidal pilot. Surprised the news hasn't jumped on that angle. They were so quick with Cpt. Malaysia's home flight simulator and preparing for his suicide. :bang:

Is that to say that the actual recorder inside the DFDR case wasn't still inside the housing when they found it?

What happens in the Bus if you pass out and bump the stick? I would assume osculations around a specific altitude, but would it be more of an Eastern 401 type descent?

That's because dumb People won't buy a German crew suicide. But a Muslim or Asian crew, its obviously terrorism and or a suicidal pilot. Stereotypes are powerfull things.
To be fair, the Malaysian crash reeked of foul play based solely on the circumstances known immediately after the crash/disappearance. To say Germanwings was foul play this early is pure speculation. (Although that wouldn't stop the media.)

This wouldn't be the first time an Airbus DFDR wasn't where it was supposed to be by the time it got to the analysis stage.

That said, I'd say that this probably has a lot more to do with the fact that the plane it the mountain with something like 3,333,000,000 Newtons of force, which is about 1/18th the force generated by the atomic bomb at Hiroshima.

That made me so angry and sad considering how big of a flight sim enthusiast I am...It's a dream of mine when I get onto a major to have an at home cockpit replica (just like his). But clearly someone cannot love aviation that much....

I envy that pilot so much. Shame on the media.

It's a load request, not a pitch request. So it'd start a slow descent if it was enough force to knock the autopilot off.

Indeed, though. The amount of crap that Ham-Standard got away with regarding how they did things with those props is sort of staggering, and they (in my no way humble or respectful opinion when it comes to this topic) are pretty much fully responsible for both accidents.

The Ham-Standard rep on the power plant team of the Carollton crash was caught trying to hide/destroy evidence which clearly laid the blame on H-S's doorstep. After he tried to hang it on the pilots by claiming they were improperly operating the props.

They knew exactly what caused the prop to shatter. It was the fifth one to do it, but the other four gearboxes separated cleanly from the engine. It was the induced drag caused by the whole mess inbedding into the leading edge which brought them down.

Why can't CNN find an Airbus pilot? All of the aviation experts they keep talking to are Boeing pilots. I've been flying the bus for almost a year, so very new, but I can't think of any scenario in which the airplane would simply begin a steady state descent towards the ground and as mentioned before 4k feet per minute. In a 320 with the boards out or only half out if on autopilot, that's still pretty tough to maintain that sort of descent rate.

Oh and to the Boeing lovers airbus haters. You can keep your Boeing, I'll keep the confy of the bus. maybe Boeing will join the rest of the world and get rid of the yoke.

Probably just bitter apples.

Kind of like how if SouthernJets has an incident, out comes all the "see, the double breasted coat and degree requirement didn't save them! yuk yuk yuk"

He is wrong, but not for the reasons you state. You are incorrect on the "button pusher" explanation for both AF447 and Asiana

I wholeheartedly disagree with you here. Poor pitch/power management was absolutely critical to both of those accidents.

If you haven't already, go read Nine Minutes, Twenty Seconds. It pretty much says what you say here but it WAY more detail of why.

Eh. I mean to be fair, the Germanwings didn't suddenly disappear from radar, then wind up flying the wrong direction for hours, either.
