Does anyone know if they are hurting for pilots? I assume they need lots of fo's and captains (hence the CQFO program) for all the planes they are taking on over the next year, however I heard there are still FO's there sitting on reserve that barely fly.

The longer I do this job, the more I belive crew planning and marketing don't talk to each other. You can't judge staffing by how much one base is flying.

Last I heard they're hitting about 80% of the target numbers. Classes are fairly full, mane yes, they need pilots, and plenty of them over the next several months. Reserves not flying will rapidly change as airplanes are added, and block hours increase for the summer months.

My buddy was in a March class and is based in Chicago. He been reserve now for awhile and only done 200 hours. It really depends on the rate the planes come in right now. Been here about two years now and 95 percent of my drops requests have been approved so far. I think the new FO's are coming online now, so it's been a nice help.
