Which shoes?

Have you thought of a pair of Chuuka boots? I had a pair from Timberland that I loved and replaced them with a pair from JD Fisk (the elastic on the top has worn very quickly).

Do you
Clark's Un.Ravel. I love these shoes, I'm on my third pair.

Do you seriously wear these at an airline job? Dimpled leather, brown stitching and accents... there's no way I would wear those at work, and Im very lax about my uniform conforming to the FOM (none of it is bought from any crew stores except the sweater).

I don't work for an airline.

I wear a pair of Chelsea boots similar to @jwp_145

Vary sock thickness according to weather and polish. Weekly. Current pair 3 years old and going strong.

I wore Eccos only for years. I ended up on the road and forgot my uniform shoes and belt so I had to purchase a pair. Couldn't find Eccos but I did find a nice pair of Clarks. Much lighter than the Ecco loafers I used to wear, and very very comfortable.

So my Allen Edmonds have died, I loved those shoes they were comfortable enough to run in when commuting but looked good enough for dress (plus no steel shank). I'm open to any and all suggestions, I bought a pair of Eccos and they are ok but aren't really a good replacement.

Doc Martens. This is the set I had on last weekend: http://www.zappos.com/dr-martens-orson-black-overdrive

Love those things!

But what I really want to wear, a la Gene Simmons:

Check out "Doc Martins For Life" they are same as the usual docs but for almost any reason they will replace them for for a small fee I think last time I traded mine in it cost me 20$
