Which shoes?

So my Allen Edmonds have died, I loved those shoes they were comfortable enough to run in when commuting but looked good enough for dress (plus no steel shank). I'm open to any and all suggestions, I bought a pair of Eccos and they are ok but aren't really a good replacement.

Huh. I love my Eccos. Not working out for you?

How about another pair of Allen Edmonds? I've seen them on serious discount at places like Nordstrom Rack and Stein Mart if you don't want to pay full boat retail.

Clark's Un.Ravel. I love these shoes, I'm on my third pair.

I am wearing a pair of Keen work boots since it is winter. Never know when I will have to walk through six inches of snow, or a super icy ramp. During the summer I just wear a cheap pair of dress shoes.

I'd give the Eccos a week or so before giving up on them. My first week breaking them in was awful but now I'll never by another brand.

Do they go through the metal detectors without setting it off? I bought a pair of Deer Stags from the crew store about three or four months ago, and the damn soles are coming off. I've already glued the front back on of one of them, now the front is coming off the other one, and the backs are coming off of both of them. Complete crap shoes! The ones I used to buy from Payless lasted longer.

I really like my Eccos for the couple of years that I wore them. Then I discovered the miracle of Dr. Martens Salfords.

They are a revelation. Like walking on pillows all day. Great value too. I've had them for a over a year now and they're still like new. I get em shined every month or so and the shiners agree that they're a great shoe.

Also, they breeze right through metal detectors.

No issues whatsoever, and I normally get about two years out of a pair.

Glad I ordered them now it seems they are discontinuing them, they are on clearance and I got the last pair in my size

I use

I use Rockport. Soles made by Adidas, no metal t st off machine, slip on boots.

Another pair of Allen Edmonds. I took mine to a cobbler and had them put on vibram outsoles cause the device fluid and snow ruined the leather original soles.

That was a while ago. Unless you damaged the leather a cobbler can replace everything else
