Reading, Haverhill, and Concord, MA?![]()
Having had nearly zero exposure to New England I found myself in Haverhill for a few days last month. I asked the front desk clerk what was around "Oh near HĂVE-rul..." and I swear it took me 10 seconds to realize.
Unless you're in Juno..Relax, you're safe in Alaska, they can't get in there...

But to answer the actual question, there are a pretty good number of Delta guys here.
I grew up just down the road in Methuen, MA. Took my wife to MA for the first time a few years ago. Her pronunciation of the towns was, well, never mind. A valiant effort on her part. Haverhill and Reading (pronounced redding) she didn't understand. Being a California girl, she could somewhat understand Conk-erd, not Con-chord.
She also didn't know what I was talking about when I said we need to go to Hannafuhd's for groceries. "Oh! Hanna-FORD's! Why didn't you say so!?"
No kidding? On a whim I drove to New Hampshire and stopped just beyond Derry/Londonderry on the way back. Stopped at a grocery store to let a buddy know the Irish Revolution was still being fought apparently and recall passing Methuen just past the interstate.
Really a stunning area of the country in general. I have to admit, I was shocked that the people in the Boston area were not only civil, but dare I say polite. No Tennesseans mind you, but decent folk.
Close to my neck of the woods (I'm on the Seacoast). While many of us may be quiet/keep to ourselves, we're generally pretty friendly once you get to know us!
I'll never forget the first time I left New England and went down South and had so many random people start talking to me and greeting me. I was seriously confused and basically thought "Am I about to get mugged, or are these people just weirdly overly friendly?"
"LANNA!" It's pronounced "LANNA"… like… that woman that used to date Sterling Archer with the hoo-haa's.
