Apparently there will be some sort of 'big announcement' tomorrow.

I really hope that it involves Super Constellations with Garret engines!!! SUPER METRO!!!

The super conies were turboprops. (Thats what made them super). I am a big fan of radials - but without the Garretts, then they are not SUPER METROS. Look at the long legs on the Connie...it looks a lot like a metro.

Uh, no.

Google L749 and L1049.
There were no turboprop Constellations.

Like I said, I certainly could be wrong. Googling Super Constellation Turboprop does return quite a few results of turboprop variants.

After further research, it appears that there were a few turboprop variants that were created. One in particular was flown by Flying Tigers (N9746Z) and was used for cargo deliveries.

It is WAY to early to guess, but wouldn't you think that they would just keep 2 certificates and run it as 2 business with the same owners? Thus no mixing of the pilot pools.
I'd guess that if the Wiggins operation was doing well enough to run on its own, it wouldn't have been sold. By merging they'll pick up routes and pilots and a few 99s- no reason to keep 3 EMBs when you've already got a Metro schoolhouse.

That is what we have been told.

They actually acquired a few more EMBs as of recent funded by AMF.
