What regional would be the best place for Envoy refugees?
More so "we can fill up a 110 seat airplane, provide a better product, and do it more profitably"
I don't think the reason delta has switched to mainline aircraft had anything to do with a fear of regional pilot shortage. It's more about economic turn around and being able to now fill up a mainline aircraft and the availability of cheap 717s. Airlines feel like any fears that have about staffing their own airline In the future is now taken care of by the new flow through agreement that are coming with all the new contracts.
Maybe, but when was the last time mainline a/c did intra Michigan flying?
WOW! That's three years down the road, however.PDT TA passes, EGL merged into PDT at the end of 2017 when most of the -100s time out. The -300 leases are all done by the end of 2020, but doesn't mean leases can't be terminated. What a mess I stepped into ( again ! )
This is your guess and not reality yet, correct?PDT TA passes, EGL merged into PDT at the end of 2017 when most of the -100s time out. The -300 leases are all done by the end of 2020, but doesn't mean leases can't be terminated. What a mess I stepped into ( again ! )
Until now I have been adamant against sideways moves, but thinking the time may have come. I'm not chasing upgrade, I'm chasing QOL.
JFK has no room for expansion. The int'l stuff will go to PHL.My prediction: Piedmont gets Q400s out of JFK and MIA than closes all other bases. RAH will never open a base West of Denver because BB thinks only sinners go West of the Rockies. PHL will shrink in size considerably as most international routes go to JFK and MIA.
Mesa, RAH and Compass all will be operating out west? I doubt that.Everything I said was complete speculation...There will be a lot of people holding their nose if they do vote yes, is the feeling that I get. AAG is a tough negotiator and ruthless in pursuing their corporate strategy and vision for moving the merger forward, getting a single operating certificate at mainline and obtaining the cheapest possible feed that they can get...I also believe that RAH won't be around in CLT and PHL if PDT gets 175s...Like Mesa they will be moving out to DFW and LAX...possibly PHX and LAS also. Whether anyone likes it or desires it, there is no way that AAG is moving forward into the remaining years of this decade with 3 wholly-owned carriers...And, I can GUARANTEE that it won't be PDT with DASH-8s past 2017 at the earliest, 2020 at the latest...We have 14 -100s timing out between now and the end of 2017. In 2017 the -300s all start going back to their lessors. I don't think that PSA will be getting any of EGL's -700s, but I am speculating on that as well. EGL is THE logical choice to operate the airplanes and one way or the other, AAG will use the assets and infrastructure of EGL to get the planes on the property earning revenue. Things will hopefully become more clear once the vote is completed in mid-September...
Have you seen LAX? 20 175s there would make it a mad house! Add another 40 operated by other airlines would be impossible.Compass will only be operating 20 airplanes for AAG, and that is only because Compass is already a significant 175 operator. No, Compass operates 175 as a demonstration of resolve by AAG to put those airplanes on a different certificate. Think of it as a "shot across the bow" of any airline that is in negotiations. We'll have to see how this plays out, but there is going to be a lot of gnashing teeth and wringing of hands before the dust finally settles.
At this point, it would just be a novel idea if American just did all the E175 flying in house. No staffing issues there.I mean with the AA/US merger you will have E190s on their operating certificate anyways. :stir: These E-Jet series really muddy the waters between "regional" and mainline....
