I actually mentioned compass in my original post, I would really like to go there but I have not gotten a ln interview offer yet and I'm not sure what to do to get myself to stick out. Also I know they are getting a lot of lateral move people from other regionals. So does it take prior 121 experience or what?

I have pretty much taken envoy off the table to start with but with the remaining choices (assuming I don't hear from compass) what would you all reccomend? Xjt or rah? Anyone have any figures on most junior captains and what the junior bases are? Thanks again for the advice everyone!

When did you apply to Compass? Most people who have applied have been offered an interview. It took a from a day to a few weeks to get back to some people.

Do you have a degree?

I applied a few months ago and update it very frequently! I still don't quite have 1500 hours so that may have something to do with it.

Pilot's have very little say in who gets hired at most majors. Sure, there's tons of pilots on the recruitment teams, but once you actually get into "interview" world, it's mostly a points system every where.
Gotcha, didn't know where you were going with that. Disregard.

PS- I would reconsider PSA as I re-read this post. Hey PSA pilots- you are not regarded well in the industry. Envoy, Republic and a few others were really trying to put something together to stop the whip sawing effect and PSA comes in blows it up, thinking only of themselves and not other pilots. Imagine, entire groups of pilots finally coming to together and putting something really big together for the good of the group only to have PSA walk in and destroy it. PSA might be career suicide. Don't forget, pilots sit on the hiring boards of some Major Airlines. Years from now, pilots flying at these regionals will be the same pilots sitting on the hiring boards at the majors.

Just an FYI for those reading this, this is really bad info. Nobody at the majors cares who you worked for. It's all HR driven now. Gone are the days of playing golf with the chief pilot.

That's not exactly accurate info, pilots at carriers do have input in to the pilot selection process.

And lets say for the moment that you are right and I'm wrong.

1.) Aren't the carriers in question just a contract negotiation away from adding it back in? You say "gone are the days". Gone only until they come back right?

2.) What are you going to do as a new hire coming from PSA to your dream job at one of the legacies when your check airman comes from Envoy or RAH? You think this person might say to himself "well lets let bygones be bygones". You willing to take that chance?

Hey newbies listen up for a minute. Mr Wheelsup says I'm passing along bad info. Don't be morons, you've invested a lot to get to this point, don't screw it up now.

Is PSA the new Mesa, I mean Freedom, I mean GoJets, I mean Gulfstream?

I can't keep up with who we're supposed to hate these days.

Honestly guys, I can't believe it isn't somehow Endeavor's fault for blah blah blah. Is Endeavor off the hook already?

Lol... Boy the number of times I've Heard THAT over the years. "Those PFT guys will NEVER get hired by the majors..." ... "Those a Gulfstream guys are going to be blacklisted!" .... "Those GoJet guys might as well be scabs! They're not going to be hired anywhere."... And now PSA. For a young guy, jetrain has nailed it. Nothing will happen to the PSA pilots. Their "punishment" is having to work under the crappy contract they signed all for the glory of flying something that looks like a miniature airbus for Metroliner pay. In time they'll all be hired by a major and all will be forgotten in a few years when the next evil regional gets everybody's fur up.
