Zing. Autocorrect/sleep fail.Well, that's one day. What about the other 364.25?![]()
My apologies in advance for the quasi-necro.
Tmo just released a tool for employees to see the roaming experience for all countries. Those of you who said you didn't notice any throttled speeds were absolutely correct. The only countries who offer data speeds of 3G/HSPA or higher that throttle the speeds for Tmo customers are Australia, Lebanon, and parts of the Antilles.
That's great news and different than the message we first heard when the Simple Global stuff was first announced. Still not sure what the real story may be because we sell high speed data passes for roaming in counties that don't throttle, so ymmv.
Cheers!
Was just using it for a week in Canada, fantastic coverage. 3G everywhere I went (they upsell 4G for about $10, but the 3G signal was more than enough.) Just worked, no surprises.
I am using an AT&T iPhone 4s, which is not perfect in the states for coverage (it lacks a T-Mobile band), for that reason, I will probably switch to a 5s soon (for what I can sell an unlocked GSM iPhone 4s for, the price to get a 5s isn't bad though.
You also get 2.5 GB of tethering per month, free, including International tethering! The folks I was with were using my phone's hotspot for data... Not bad for $70/month...
If you buy an unlocked phone thats independent of Tmobile then you can get the unlimited data tethering for free. Just make sure the phone supports all the radio bands that Tmobile uses. The only downside it might not support wifi calling because i think its something that Tmobile installs on their phones or can anyone put it on any phone? Anyone know?
I have a non TM Nexus5. They still track my tethering and limit me to 3GB in the US. Overseas they don't seem to be able to see it and my counter nexver moves. All that on the Post paid $70 unlimited plan
No wifi calling seems to be part of a TM bootload and only available on the branded phones, unless someone found a way to hack it in. I just use Skype for the overseas stuff, don't really see a benefit to WiFi calling for me.Were you able to get WIFI Calling on it?

Check out the Vonage app. It's free outbound calling until September.I can add Switzerland, Saudi, UAE, and Cyprus to the list of places it works great. Use the 3G data to internet dial the states (with Rebtel) which makes for cheap int'l calls (like 10 cents a minute)![]()
oo really? To cell phones too?Check out the Vonage app. It's free outbound calling until September.
Any US number, AFAIK.oo really? To cell phones too?
