Today I passed my exam! I'm a dispatcher now, yay!! I went to AGS and I'm actually very glad I did. It was a big debate for me where to go and what would be the best fit for me since everyone seems to have a strong opinion and no one seems to agree. It was exactly what I needed from a school. You definitely have to be very motivated and just want to learn and go out of your way to learn. I had to pick up instrument books and books about turbine systems that weren't on the course reading list because I really did want to understand. The 6 days of classes were intense and I tried to come into the class being prepared to already pass my exam. The class helped and drilled knowledge into my head better. I can't imagine those with zero aviation experience, there were 3 out of 15 in my class like that. I may have had an advantage being the least experience pilot since I had recently done flight planning, unlike the ATP pilots who haven't done it for years. Having the ADX done before class was great, those who didn't have it done were stressed out beyond belief. I really liked my instructors Pete and Van (Van is new but was great!), the school was so welcoming and like a big family and everyone really wants you to succeed. I enjoyed my classmates too. Again, I'm glad of my choice and can't believe I'm finally done! Now just to get a job!
