Delta TA

No SDP's in the TA. No the TA will not go to the membership for a vote. New reserve rules effective immediately.

How are the new reserve rules? Call out times? Also are you still on reserve? If so, by choice?

New reserve rules....12 hr long call (same as current rules but amended original TA which would have provided 13 hrs). Earliest assignment on day 1 is now 10am. Any assignment prior to 1200 on day 1 must be posted NLT 1500 the day prior. No acknowledgment period for assignments. Short call is now 12 hrs in length for all categories (intl was 15 hrs).

Still deep on reserve on the 75/76. Will be a pretty solid lineholder on the MD88 later this summer after training. 75/76 was a good deal for me when we weren't hiring but now that we are I was foregoing seniority improvement. They are putting new hires on the 75/76 but only in small numbers and it is really a limited backfill as guys bid off above (less than 1 for 1). My percentage in category was stuck and showing no signs of appreciable improvement. I'm pretty picky about which days off I get and frankly like shorter length flights.

I'm guessing that was an autocorrect from Mem Rat or Membership ratification.

One of APC's most prolific posters got autocorrected on a long post several times and didn't fix it. He was wanting to say "MEMRAT" but the entire time he called it memory rat. The term stuck.

I did fly with a guy who kept his current seniority number written in his hat.

Remember that seniority tracking excel thing that was going around at the time of the SLI? I'm almost 200 numbers ahead of that and it's not even the end of the year. I need to keep pushing guys down the escalator.

You're damned right.

I showed an FO that was approaching 60, that was also senior to me, the excel spreadsheet showing how we generally live to about 67 years old and we statistically just up and die.

But then he turned out to be a really cool guy and I felt guilty a few days later.

I updated my standing bid today ('cause, well you know) and the form needed my seniority number. It took my 20 minutes to find the thing.

Some people ask me and I really have no idea.

I know where to find it, but it really doesn't matter in the whole scheme of things.

We need it when we list for a jumpseat. However, they only update the list twice a year (1/1 and 7/1) so your number stays in place for at least 6 months. I ended up finding it in CrewTrack, but I have no idea if it was correct or not. They have my employee number and name so I guess if they really need it (a year from now when my seat lock is up or three years from now when I can actually hold what I but on the bid sheet) they can go find it.

Mine is brazenly displayed on SkedPlus+ every time I look at it, and it's usually in free-fall, too. Attrition is happening.

When were you hired, Cav? I'd be able to hold GRU, SCL, and BSB on the weekends as a lineholder on the ATL 7ER.

2010. Thankful for the opportunity that I got to fly the airplane and go to some very cool places long before I probably should have but the last several months have been a PBS blood bath for me. I am a fly my schedule enjoy the days off kind of guy. I could frankly careless about green slips or white slips. You guys can have them all! I can find pleasure in virtually all the flying we do so I don't really care. AMS, BHM, it's all the same to me if I can get the days off I want. Got tired of fighting it.

"Pay me my monthly guarantee and leave me alone" is not a bad way to be, at all.

The science is the science folks.

This is the way I am.

However, be very careful of what extracurricular activities you pick. Or those that pick you.
