Delta TA

BUT, BUT, BUT!!!!!!!!!!

THEIR DUES ARE CHEAPER!!!!!!!

That explains it.

:)

I'm not sure if you guys are digging me not... But since I post on here a bit, you may notice I'm pretty union neutral and not trying to sell IBT>ALPA, at all. I don't have any exp working at an ALPA carrier.

What I was commenting earlier was the game the company is playing with us right now over Part 117, which is pretty much "you better accept your FDP ext, and if you call fatigued... well we're still gonna give you an occurance and we may change it back later..."

I'm no ALPA cheerleader by any stretch of the imagination (although the more I hear from our local guys, the less filled with dread I am and I might actually get getting a tiny hint of optimism going), but I would cut off my hand before voting for the IBT at an airline. Hell, my mom was a shop steward for years at the truck line where she worked (she was in customer service ya numbskulls, she wasn't a trucker), and she's always telling me how much they've been giving back to management hand over fist. She'd have lost 80% of her retirement if she'd gotten out THREE MONTHS later than she did. ALPA might not be all sunshine and rainbows, but at least they aren't completely making it up as they go along.

Your new MEC chair is an absolutely top notch individual. Pleasure to meet him last week at the Exec Board. He made a few remarks in the plenary session about unity among pilots and defending the profession that almost brought a tear to my eye. Hold on to that guy. He's there for the right reasons.

I'm cautiously optimistic as well. I had one of the new guys as an upgrade trainee recently. I was very impressed. We agreed on most everything, and I'm not a huge fan of ALPA.

That all sounds vaguely familiar, minus the occurrence part.
