FAA Hiring Process Revamped

There should be. Mostly populated cities. Back in 09 I drove from Miami where I live to Ft. Lauderdale about a 55 min drive to take the exam, so I would assume they will be roughly in between a large group of candidate locations.
 
The BQ process is totally screwed up, and random. I have a nephew that applied that does want to be a controller, and just for •s and giggles I filled out another with one of my college age sons info, even though he doesn't want to be a controller, and is on another career path. We filled out both apps exactly the same, with only the names being different, and...my son passed, and my nephew didn't.

Yea I know, I totally agree. I'm not sure whats going on but I have just recently heard that some people who made it through the BQ got the DQ notice over the weekend I think because of inconsistency with the resume and work or school related stuff and other said they submitted basically every document that was needed. So i am not exactly sure as to what the FAA is looking for.
 
The FFA dose not know what it is looking for........................but if i had to guess i would say some upper manager in DC has ties to the morons that came up with this process and is getting somthing out of this!!!!!!

Lisiten folks this is just round one, you do not even know how many of those 2300 will even pass the AT-SAT get hired and make it to FPL status. there will be hiring for a good 10 years.
 
So last month I went ahead and apply and now today I received a email to schedule for the test! This wasn't my career path but I'll just try..Anyone else?

I'm taking it at Cal State Fullerton, CA in April.

Is the green book helpful in studying? I heard its not up to date?

Definitely not up to date but the word is that the test hasn't changed so with that being said the green book can be used just to get a taste of what the test would be like, technically this is an aptitude test and you cannot study for it. I will be taking mine in Dania Beach, FL.

Have you gone to CTI school? Or do you have a BA? Just wondering how some people got in and how most did not make it.
 
Sweet! I received my test notification. I will be taking the AT SAT April 10th in Fullerton, CA.

Here are the AT SAT test locations for anybody that curious. I figured there would be more test locations than this. Seems like some people will have to go on road trips to take the test. Anchorage, AK; Atlanta, GA; Bloomingdale, IL; Denver, CO; Dania Beach, FL; Fullerton, CA; Honolulu, HI; East Elmhurst, NY; Oklahoma City, OK; Carolina, PR; and Seattle, WA

I ordered the Green Book. I heard that the disc that comes with the book is helpful because it has simulations of certain sections of the test on it.

Wow, what the hell? Last time they had one 10 mins from SFO. A lot of metropolitans left out...I was under the impression there are usually a ton of testing locations. Another wtf moment in this process.
 
Im taking it early April at Cal State Fullerton.

Wonder how many people are not going to test because of the distance to a test site. I'm just happy theres one in CA!

Good luck dude, at least you have the flight bennies. I can imagine this would be a hardship for a lot of people considering what taking the test means in the grand scheme of things for most people. Less competition for those who do miraculously pass the BQ I guess.

I remember sitting on the bus going to the Academy and hearing the following discussion from the two guys the seat ahead of me. "Hey my name is X, I'm going to Honolulu." "Oh hey, I'm Y from Honolulu, I'm going to Anchorage." ::X:: "Funny, I'm from Anchorage". Go figure. Just like spring, every March the normal 6 month TDY to ANC appears at all 10+ terminal facilities and the agency sits there and wonders where they messed up.
