That's because there isn't a job market for intermediates. For an ALS truck, you need a paramedic to care for the patient, and an EMT to drive.


I get to hear all about what happens in the ER from my wife. Getting the EMT-Basic was a real eyeopener to me. I'm really glad I did it.

i'm drunk so I'll ramble a little bit ;-)

I'll be honest, I don't even remember how I stumbled onto this site. I'm mostly a lurker I guess. I really like the huge diversity of experience here. I really wanted to be a pilot and wasn't responsible enough when I was younger to successfully pursue it as a career, so I joined the USAF and discovered the wonder of ATC, which I love. I still exercise my PPL privileges every once in a while but not nearly enough.

If ya'll have any questions about how operations are run at ZMP or Minneapolis approach don't hesitate to ask, I will answer them to the best of my ability. I worked at ZMP (minne center) from 2009 to 2014 and now I'm training at Minne approach (where I want to be). I really think pilots should come visit ATC facilities more often and I wish controllers would take more advantage of the flight deck training program. I think it would help us understand how our control instructions affect ya'll and vice versa.

I toured the airport tower when I was a student pilot. My instructor arranged it.

How would I go about checking out a control center?

Actually, I'm in sacramento California. So probably NorCal center...

But if it takes a contact to get in, then I may be able to come out there sometime soon.

As you said in your first post, it would be nice to see the controllers point of view on things and see the day to day routines.
