New Eagle TA

Not a reach, it's simple fact that they would love for time to sweep away.

I'd love to sweep it away too as I'm not even involved. I've heard about it over and over again, hopefully the involved parties took corrective action.

However, at some point, beating a dead horse is… beating a dead horse.

For a group of people who had no moral objection to spending thousands of our unions dollars on extravagant meals and alcohol for friends and family...

I am still trying to figure out how it is the Eagle's Pilot's union dollars??? For those who keep saying that, do you know how your MEC is financed?

@ATN_Pilot how much is the Eagle MEC subsidized?

It's a lie that political opposites have been using for months.

I find all this back and forth very relevant. It is important to know the credibility of any person(s) who are providing opinionated statements on our future.
For a group of people who had no moral objection to spending thousands of our unions dollars on extravagant meals and alcohol for friends and family... I do not give a fart about your opinion because you have proven yourself to be selfish, self-centered, and entitled.

Your friends and your family. Family Awareness event...

Besides, you are lucky to have ALPA, since they run regionals at a loss. You are subsidized by Delta, United, Spirit, AirTran (for now), etc.

I disagree like heck with my union and some of the guys at the top, but self-centered, entitled, and selfish are not things I would use to describe people in the service of pilots.

And BTW- that pos TA we negotiated happens to be the best bankruptcy contract any carrier has ever seen.

*which, to your point, I had nothing to do with creating. I only helped develop material about it and presented that to the pilot group.

The problem is, the MEC negotiated with the wrong people...

First, ALPA doesn't profit off anyone.

Secondly, the more financially healthy your union is means your W-2 is more financially healthy.

Thirdly, Eagle management must be salivating over the circus the Eagle MEC has become.

I would agree except there is no circus in this MEC. There is a contingent of people, such as Jared, trying to make it appear a circus. A great question is why? They have a chance to vote now, just like every eagle pilot. They are free to voice pertinent opinion about the TA, just like every eagle pilot. Instead, they endeavor to smear and obfuscate. Why?

I think a guy at National knows more about ALPA by laws than you. If you want your union reps to be teetotalers, Skywest might be a better fit.
I did get a chuckle out of this, as my current employers are some of the most liberal and progressive (in terms of company policy and work culture) folks that I've worked for. ;)

No it is a circus. Proof of that is the open meeting to vote down the TA then a vote a few weeks later where some supposed 'leaders' abstained from the vote.

Jared is not the problem.

No, it's a circus. When you have crusty old captains at major and legacy airlines, who haven't flown a plane with less than 100 seats in 20+ years asking their FOs if they know what the hell is going on at Eagle because there was non authorized negotiations with the company and then they saw there was a vote where over 60% of the MEC abstained, it's a circus.

Or guys who have asking WTF is that?

Do you know how many people in your crew you just threw under the bus? Do you have a filter installed between your brain and your mouth? I can believe you guys thought a family awareness event with open bar a good idea, I can believe you guys planned it and I can even believe you did it. It's just hard to believe you would post that like it's okay to say.

All you've done with this post is prove how ignorant you are. Open bars are normal at family awareness and similar events throughout the Association. The reason for this is simple: if you tell pilots that they'll get free alcohol if they show up to the event, then attendance skyrockets and you get your message out to far more pilots. It is money well spent.

According to the latest budget report, the EGL MEC has spent 19.5% more than their own dues income in the first two quarters of this year. That money came out of a grant that ALPA national provided to the MEC at the beginning of the year in the amount of $120,448. If they continue spending for the rest of the year at the rate that they've been spending for the first two months of the year, then they'll run out of national grant money in just 4 months, halfway through the year. At that point, they would have to come to the Executive Council and ask for more national subsidized money.

I find it amazing that an ALPA rep would make a post like this. Wonder if the Prez would approve? This has serious problem written all over it. There are things one should just keep quiet about if one doesn't want to disparage ALPA at da social media sites. This is the poster child. Hello Todd.......

I see Todd as Jack Nicholson in a "Few Good Men" foaming at the mouth "You can't handle the truth".

Open bars seem to the norm at other social gatherings - for example, company Christmas party. Why is ALPA a bad guy for it?
