Malaysia Airlines 777 missing

Another theorized map, since I have nothing else to do on break... following R628 with report over that island.

What do we know about the first officer? A lot of signs are leading investigators to suspect sabotage. The story about the captain and all his YouTube videos certainly takes the suspicion off of him. But what do we really know about the FO aside from his experience flying?

Just throwing it out there...

CNN has been reporting that it probably is the captain because of his YouTube videos and how knowledgable he is with the aircraft.

Wouldn't the FO have the knowledge to pull some circuit breakers? Or turn off the transponder or anything else for that matter?

If the story is true about the thing keeping on for hours after things were turned off, we'll never know what really happened in the cockpit. The CVR on records for two hours?

LOL Isn't a captain expected to know about his aircraft? talk about reaching

Quick question: Is it possible to turn of the CVR of the B777 while the aircraft is operational?

meaning what you pull the circuit breaker the CVR would be useless? that kinda defeats the purpose of having it on the aircraft if it can be turned off so easily

Pulling the cvr breaker is common on evacuation checklists, as you don't want it possibly recording over an incident.

See fedex flight 705 attempted hijacking by a company flight engineer.

Yes the circuit breaker renders it useless. As with any other electrical part on the aircraft.

With regards with the CVR, @Minuteman can probably go into greater detail than me, but even if you press 'erase' on it, they can still recover the data. It also goes back MUCH longer than the min FAR requirement for recording time.

If you're going to hide an airplane, or what you're doing with it, why bother following the airways?
well the theory now is they flew it along a well traveled track to sort of mask the primary under/over other traffic to help mask as it was in and out of primary radar coverage

My question is those with TCAS II does your mode a/c have to be turned on to see others position on the screen, could you theoretically crawl up behind another airliner and sit below them on the airway without hitting them?
