Malaysia Airlines 777 missing

I think you missed my point. AF447 didn't just disappear. It had a mechanical failure, and the pilots crashed it into the ocean. They knew where it went down. This thing seems to have just disappeared. Something is fishy with this.

The Flying Tigers had a few radar returns, and crashed into terrian (if I remember right) and the TBM's off of Florida was at a time when technology didn't give us radar tracks like we have with this.

Not right away. It took them quite a while to pinpoint exactly where it ended up.

News now reporting that two pax on the manifest were not on board. Not sure if that's something that's common or not.

According to Shanghaiist:

UPDATE (10:53pm): 37-year-old Italian national, Luigi Maraldi, earlier named on the manifest list of missing people, is confirmed alive in Thailand. He called his parents earlier today to say he was alive and well. Maraldi's passport was stolen in August last year and it appears that one of the passengers on board MH370 was using the stolen passport.

UPDATE (11:12pm): A second stolen passport, belonging to a 30-year-old Austrian by the name of Christian Kozel, may have been used by one of the passengers on board MH370. Kozel's passport was reportedly stolen when he was on vacation in Thailand two years ago. Austrian authorities have confirmed that he is alive and well.

2 stolen passports on one flight that vanishes upon reaching cruising altitude? Doesn't look good...

Most of this area is non-radar. When I was out at Diego, we had flights check in with us every day and night. They weren't even in our airspace.

One night, several hours into a long mid-shift, I had a Cathay flight check in. Usually the crew sounded Asian, but on this night, a distinctly Aussie voice checked in with me and gave me the run down. I read everything back, and after a brief pause, re-made contact. I asked him why, if he wasn't technically in my airspace do they always check in. The answer was startling.

"You are the last person that I will speak to before reaching Thailand, in 4 hours. If something happens, you have our last known position. I'm glad it's a Navy Yank." .... I felt proud that night and took a greater appreciation for getting that info correct.

Geez, found another shot of the woman who is in most of these press images, but with the caption:

Really? Go die in a fire please. Kthx. I hate the media.

Does this suck...? yes. Do I feel sorry for those effected...? yes.

That said....If you hate the media and wish they die in the fire, why continue to contribute....?

They are taking photos and reporting a story......
Others are taking those same photos and posting them on various forums....

I dont see a big difference.....

That said I agree with a few posts above, them minute this happened they should have been rounded up and escorted to a private area of teh airport away from all of the press....

I have second thoughts.

We get mad at the photographer, but glare at the picture.

Every time someone falls out in the airport and there are paramedics, there are generally a crowd of people tweeting and/or filming it with their mobile phones.

There was a medical situation onboard one of my flights while we were one the ground and you couldn't believe the amount of people that came up to film it with their camera that we had to "shoe off".

Yup, If reports are true this strongly suggests an act of terrorism
