Endeavor Rumor

Well you do have a point I must say. I don't know what the solution is to this issue. Look at what Delta did to the Midwest pilots with the NWA merger. I don't see them offering a staple to any regional if that is a solution you are hinting at. Nor do I see a guaranteed flow via Compass. Delta was quick to kill that as well. They like controlling who they hire. I do have to admit I find it ironic that many 9E guys are getting the "don't ever interview here again" from Delta and they go back to flying Delta Connection passengers all of whom are basically Delta passengers.
Midwest pilots? Am I missing something?

Bolded is funny because alot still believe a flow will happen, I don't think they would be willing to just bring those guys up via flow after telling them that already.

The solution is that if Delta wants one seamless product then they should only have one product. You're not going to get one seamless experience when you have one golden child, and 6-7 ugly, red-headed, step children.

The one product, one experience works well for countless other airlines. Regionals are dead. Bring the flying in house!

I got to see the wake of despair our management created at the last crew room visit. I wasn't even there, I came by hours later and I got completely depressed just from the remaining aura of the place. Didn't know that was even possible. This place is actually getting worse. Didn't know that was possible either.

That sounds like the aftermath of the consecutive lunches with ALPA and then management in transition. It's strange to hear someone actually say what everyone already suspected/knew. Always fun to come out of a free lunch depressed.

Other than "same pay, faster parking schedule" what did you guys hear?

You can't really rally the troops when your COO stands up there and says, "Look everyone. We're wholly owned now. What that means is we aren't promised ANYTHING." They then proceeded to tell everyone they had no plan to attract new people, travel bennies MIGHT improve, the SSP MIGHT improve, we MIGHT keep more -200s. Yea it wasn't exactly an upbeat meeting.

I didn't hear the faster parking schedule. Gumm-ball definitely said multiple times that pay is not changing though.

The only things that were real, tangible, noticeable things were that FAs are getting KCM, and 38 -200s are going to be completely refurbished.

Are we putting EV on the side of the 38?

That was like a month ago but IIRC it was:

From ALPA:
-the SSP isn't working as advertised we have been talking with everyone about trying to fix it
-working on better travel benefits and j/s listing since we're DL owned we should have better
-working on parking for commuters
-multiple meetings after the meltdown on 117 week to make policy so the company doesn't hang us all out to dry again instead of just saying oops, thanks for taking it in the pooper for us
-we're DLs cheapest feed so we can have whatever amount of flying we can staff on 200s (but we can't staff any)
-we think DL wants to keep us around because we are their cheapest feed due to lack of overhead since they do all our internal functions (payroll, IT, etc)

From MGT:
-oops, we screwed up on the 117 implementation/snowstorm debacle so we had some meetings to pat ourselves on the back for working in our offices all day with catered lunches while pretending to actually care about all of you
-we need to hire 400 this year, we offered 10 a class date for January of which 5 accepted and 4 showed up
-we could restore the pre-bk payrates and it would be a drop in the bucket, but we don't think that would affect hiring
-we've been talking with the FAA and other companies about a multi crew pilot license but it's kinda expensive right now to implement
-we can't get people to come to class because eaglevoy has an agreement promising everyone flow (pretending the AIP was a foregone conclusion, thanks for shooting that crap-sandwich down EGL folks)
-DL says we can keep as many 200s as we can staff, there was some absolute minimum amount they wanted us to keep like 30 or something
-900s are the priority and NYC will be where almost all 9E flying is endgame
-when the company tanks I still have my old job in DL management to go back to or I can just retire
-sucks to be you

I think that about covers what I remember

I listened in a couple of weeks ago and it was more of the same.

ALPA kept repeating how much sense it made for Delta to make us their biggest regional. When asked why Delta wasn't working harder at this (since it makes it clear multiple times that it makes sense) they said Delta needs to be prodded a little to get them to budge. So it makes lots of sense for the company and Delta, but they're not doing anything about it.

Company made it clear attracting pilots is their biggest concern but they will not touch our current payrates in order to attract people or keep them here. They are solely focused on adjustments to the SSP and are also talking about ways to make us "an attractive option" to flight school students. They even talked about flying a 900 up to GFK and letting it sit there for a day haha.

BW said a problem the company is having is too many FOs bailing to what he called "mid-majors" such as JetBlue, and that they weren't expecting to lose the amount that they are from the middle-bottom of the list. When the 4 year FO paycap was discussed, he said we will pretty much have to "do what we have to do" in order to get by.

Question was asked of letting FOs interview for the SSP with the understanding that they would have to wait a while until class, he didn't seem to like that idea too much.

He ended the session with saying we are all doing a great job out there and to keep it up.

Also mentioned that the company is looking into a program such as the MPL, but that it wouldn't benefit the company for a few more years.

Cry me a river, oh
(cry me, cry me)
Cry me a river!

No updates on hiring today in the weekly update, although 6 more got through on the SSP. Also, looks like a LGA domicile opening on May 1st....oh joy!
