If there was a cheaper option on my way to work, Id be fine with that coffee. Coffee is coffee really.
Never ran into the issue using my card... But I wouldn't know for most work hotel transactions as they go on the company card.Great insight guys. What about hotels that want your debit/credit card and charge a fee, but it's released once you checkout...do you try to dispute it or not?
There's not a Rebel, 7-11, or Terribles convenience store (trying to remember local LAS convenience stores off the top of my head) on your way to work?![]()
then you load your own bags and open your own doors.
I NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER, under absolutely NO CIRCUMSTANCES tip the van driver when he/she is transporting me to and from the airport. It is a requirement to go to a hotel for my job and I don't believe in tipping them for this reason. We don't get reward points at the hotels anymore too - all the more reason to not tip them. The only time I'll tip a van driver is if they bring me to a special location from the hotel on my own personal business.
What ever happened to Jace? Haven't seen the dude around here for a long time.
He is alive and well... Flying freight still... I guess he just doesn't frequent this site as much anymore. What ever happened to Jace? Haven't seen the dude around here for a long time.
Pretty much this. I was once tipped a c-note for staying late and doing an heroic lav dump as a line guy; now, I will tip the van drivers for doing a good job (e.g. schlepping my bags and not killing me) or for stuff that's out of profile (hey, can you run me to the pizza place at 2330, since the hotel has stopped serving food).I worked at an FBO for years and I honestly never expected a tip for driving the crew van and loading bags. It was mostly a nice break from the noise and exposure of the ramp. That said, $1 per crew member was perfectly adequate in my mind. I always thought the lav service warranted a tip the most.
Now that I'm the slob getting driven to and from the airport, I do $1 per leg since I suspect that van driver makes more money than me anyway. Also, I don't tip if they blast their preferred music, drive like a teenage boy, or do the AC on max 100% of the time. Tipping is for service, not just showing up.
Some people just want to watch the world burn.Hotel free breakfast but with a waiter...
Restaurants are 15-20% or more based on service. Here's a question though, how about tipping on drinks with dinner? If you go out and have a few beers, do you tip on the total cost of the bill or just the food? 2 beers could easily cost more than a meal at some places, so what do you do then?

Sidebar alert!Worse, what does it say about you for paying $2.11 (or more) for a cup of flipping coffee?
