That sounds like a bunch of horse hockey. While no doubt, a big BMI number can lead to the issues mentioned, it seems to me there are also a percentage of healthy, heavier folks out there. Lets face it, there are a LOT of tubby pilots out there. Maybe it will be the beginning of a REAL PILOT SHORTAGE.
I'm guessing yes?Wait a minute! I have a neck circumference of just over 17", but I weigh in at 165lbs, and I'm 5'10"? Does that mean I have to go see a sleep doctor? I don't even snore.
I'm guessing yes?
Who is going to pay for it?
"There are "logistical details" to be dealt with before the rule is implemented for controllers but Tilton said the plan is to include them, too. "
But no logistical details for pilots? National obesity rate is somewhere around 35%? Lets say pilots are slightly healthier (debatable) and it is slightly less. Can you imagine the cry from management if 30% of their force is pulled off line for this?
I still need to gain weight. Eating more when you're full is hard.
No, they will just require you to attend pilates neck reduction classes.Wait a minute! I have a neck circumference of just over 17", but I weigh in at 165lbs, and I'm 5'10"? Does that mean I have to go see a sleep doctor? I don't even snore.
