The Kodiak municipal airport has a steep hump in it, back in my youth we would go to Kings Dinner and watch people just about rip the gear off.

The old Dart engines IIRC. You guys think garretts are loud?

I pulled a GPU on one of these old Convairs, which the GPU port was right behind the left engine. My ear were ringing for the rest of my shift, even with ear plugs in.

I was 25k above that spot yesterday and it was more like 100kts on the tail in that same direction.
