Silver air ways hiring all

Tomorrow I will be officially based in CLE. It literally took them 4 months to tell me were I would be based. Also I am the only person based there. Not flying much I have 40 hours or so. Lots of reserves on the Beach

He should be in Duj so it makes no sense to put him in cle.

If you read the reg you can get the 1000 hours under 135 and 91k as well. It boils down to it either has to have more than 10 pax seats or jet not t-prop, all as PIC. So as an extreme hypothetical, you're flying a 737 under part 91 for some really rich guy who owns it outright, those hours don't count. Or you're flying a 1900 under 135 but don't have 10 seats in the back, again doesn't count somehow.

What if you are flying skydivers in a plane that has seating for 22 and it is all PIC turboprop?

Ok, he may be based in CLE, but he won't actually see that for a while. The company will TDY him to where he is needed in the meantime.

I hate to ask this, as I'm gainfully employed now, but I have to ask. I have my BS from UND and I'm sitting on 1300 hrs. How does that whole exemption thing work, you apply and just say you have 1500 and then bring it up later on in the hiring process?

No, you would apply with whatever your total time is and there should be a caveat for restricted minimums.

Yes but honestly why go unless you can be based at home or you go as a DEC? Plenty of better companies out there... I'd consider going as a DEC but that's about it...

So not hiring DEC's?

Silver hired a couple of classes of DECs in the middle of last year. Other than that, there has not been a need for DECs and to be honest, unless there is some sudden massive growth that requires more CAs than we have FOs who can upgrade, I don't see Silver hiring DECs anytime soon.

Wonder if we could throw the 11th seat in our chieftain, MEL it inop, and log time...
What makes me laugh is the guy flying the 27 seaters under 135 with no seats in the back are unqualified to do the same job if there were suddenly seats back there.

I'm in Mississippi now... No way in hell I'd ever move here. I'd ideally like to live in base but because I have a house in NE FL that isn't likely to happen anytime soon. So I'd settle for an easy commute.
