Call me old fashioned...

Delta's stuff has always been pretty cool. Although call me strange their late 1990s stuff was my favorite.

Actually while we are at at let's show some love for TWA.

Their last livery was my favorite.

Oh and how about some Frontier love!

Yes, but is the blue better than the brown/tan/mustard? Personally, the only SWA jets that look good are the 2 shamu and now 1 penguin planes

At least with the tan and orange the colors were kind of in an ugly sequence. The blue just looks terrible. I like this one and the Maryland one. My all time favorite is still the Frontier livery.

TWA's final livery

Such a great livery!

Few things to add here since I spammed the hell out of this thread.

1. IF I make it to NJC I will search high and low for some old 1987ish NWA/NWA airlink/NWA Orient materials I had. I also had a really cool poster of a NWA turbo prop that I had in my room too (I spammed the hell out of the poor gate agent/pilot/regional FO/FA when I few in the 80s).

2. I think I had some exceedingly cool TWA stuff too (Er I thought it was cool at the time). And perhaps one or two DAL things.

3. I THINK (gotta stress think) I had some GP Express stuff too. I'll need to dig around at HSI to find it.

4. Man where have all the cool US liveries gone?
Hell you would *THINK* Virgin USA would have a cool design. Heck perhaps they could hire the people from the Hangar One Project to make something cool. If nothing else their planes might stand out.

5. One of the admins (looking at you @Derg) need to post this to the Facebook page. After all of the crap that happens in this biz sometimes it's good to have a thread like this.

Flew on that one from SYR-CLT, SFO-CLT-PNS became SFO-PHL-DCA-SYR-CLT-PNS and I had a friend list me on that leg as I grabbed a last minute seat to SYR. I was expecting to be on Mesa or Air Wisconsin, you can imagine my surprise as a nerd when that thing rolled up! The whole thing is a pretty crazy story I'd be happy to tell at NJC. :)

The UA 747-400 looked amazing in the grey paint when it was still nice and new, but United really let those colors fade over the years to where they looked horrible by the time of the merger with Continental.

My favorite though I know US Airways has an Airbus painted in these colors, I saw it a few weeks ago:

Along similar lines, the old Piedmont livery was a beauty too.
I actually liked the blue and white United livery, I wish they'd kept that one or a variation of it instead of the half assed abortion of a livery they have now.

Growing up in SDF the old UPS livery was a cool one as well. Dated as hell, but I was sad to see the last ones head to the paint shop. Really suited the 727s and DC-8s well.

TWA, very classy looking. Back when mainline used to fly into my hometown airport(KMLI), the TWA maddog was my favorite

Those United colors really bring back some 1990s childhood nostalgia. 10 years from now we will all be reminiscing about a time when AAL jets were glamorous polished aluminum :(

I've also loved this look ever since I saw it in a book of airplane photos (back before A.net :)

Can see all the TWA, NWA and Delta birds that you like here at KMZJ
Got see it from just a few thousand feet over flying PHX-TUS and could make out a bunch of the airlines on the drive back up to PHX. It's like almost like a museum, where you get tazed for getting too close to the exhibits.

Really interesting there are the ex-Pro Air MD-90s that were broken up and left there, they were brand spankin' new and Pro Air never flew them, just painted them up and stored them. Wonder how they ended up scrapped.

Pro Air! WHOAAAAH! Aren't you too young to remember that one?

Chasen, you just earned about 900 "cool" points with that reference.
