Republic's new interview mins

You can say that u am not looking at the job with an open mind, or ignoring the signs. but, I have done my research and spoken to people that j trust from both sides. and I am comfortable with where i stand. I am not saying that the contact is great. I am not saying that the comoany is right. But to say I don't know what I am getting into, or that I have been nieve is just plain wrong.

Just because one person doesn't believe or agree with another doesn't make either of them wrong. it just means they see the world differently. some people may have reasons fir choosing a job that others don't understand. Some others may have chosen the wrong job.

Just remember. do you ever see the ones happy at a company make all the noise? And vice versa? Not starting a fight. just not trying to cause a dramatic argument. that is not what I am about.

Just worry about getting through training. As mentioned your attitude will probably change as you are flying around thunderstorms at 1:00AM and still have another leg to go once you land after you got extended into a day off.

Also, the union (if the Teamsters do it differently please correct me) doesn't need to listen to you the first year you are on property as you are on probation. There is a reason for that. Think about that reason.

Well, you used the term "forced to join the union" which is a half truth. Yes, it's true that even as a nonmember you'll still pay a small percentage of your check to the union, but that's part of the RLA and the world we work in. Furthermore, you have yet to experience the company blatantly violate your labor contract and then tell you "fly now, grieve later," which is another gem from the RLA. So no, you don't know what you're getting into. I'm not singling you out, as anybody who has not worked for an airline before doesn't know what he's getting into either.

Again, you told somebody to take the RAHContractNow website with a grain of salt. I then pointed out that if there was anything untrue on that website RAH would have sued the pants off the IBT to get the information changed. You chose to ignore this.

You keep telling us how happy you are, and you've been making a lot of noise lately.

PGH Maverick
I wasn't educated about unions and didn't like them either before getting into this business. Then I got hired by a 121 outfit that was non union.

Second month on the line, I notice the line I bid number 1 went to a FO junior to me and I get a reserve line. I call scheduling and get told its too late to change it and piss off.

So much for having rules.

Training is no joke BTW. Get through that and learn some things.

I will take all of your opinions as j recognize you have much more experience with this than I do.
I am not going to get I to a pissing match over any of this, and I do recognize that there is plenty that I still need to learn.

I do admit I may have been pretty drunk when posting last night as well!

It is what you make it. I've made many long winded discussions and PMs as well. I would stay away from the religious objector option with the union, they'll work as hard as they can do get you fired...

That site is specifically geared towards trying to keep new hires from going there so take it with a grain of salt. they are hoping that by keeping people away it will force republic to change some things in the contract. I do not believe in that type if tactic, and from what I have seen and who I have spoken to in both sides, it seems a little blown out of proportion.

To me both sides seem at fault. there needs to be some give and take but both are acting too proud. there needs to be some type if happy medium, and once I am FORCED to be part of the union, I am going to speak up.

Not that I expect one voice to make any difference, but if you are going to force me to be in the u ion, you can spare the time to listen to me and work on my behalf... not just sit and wait for somebody else to make the move.

Sorry for the rant... just not a big fan of the current situation and the handling of it by either side.
Thanks for the solidarity bro. :)
Once again how long have you been in rah? How many months have you sat reserve? How many times have you been furloughed? Have you been told "just go home" in second day of class after you resigned from your full time job to come to rah?

Rahcontactnow is a pretty accurate site. People being forced to be part of the union eh? I would like to see you dealing with 3am call to be put back on rest for 4pm show later in the day without a CBA

Go take an ATP ride! People with the ATP done already are getting calls almost everywhere they apply. I sent out 4 applications, and had all four interviews offered right after I completed my ATP ride.

I think it simply has to do with the new rule, and the ease of the transition if they don't have to worry about you getting your ATP or failing a ride.
Wrong advice again.

You get your atp through rah or whoever hires you you get your atp trhough them type is pic. Otherwise you need to wait till 2016.

I referred someone with two types and 5000tt he is working at express jet now. He was told he had to get a space available ticket for the interview by rah. Expressjet said "when would you like to come in?" And made a smooth experience for him

By going there he gets better work rules and better pay on the right seat.

To each their own. I am not getting into a pissing match over the Internet. All I can do is offer my opinion, and respect the opinion of others. I am not hear to bad mouth other folks experience, and I wish each person the best in any decisions they make.

You're so green, you don't even know what you don't know yet.

Let him figure out whether or not he should be bitter.

You, me, them are here for different reasons.
