Republic's new interview mins

I applied three weeks ago with ATP mins and got a message from hr saying we will call you back. I thought I was going to get a call back since I have my masters degree and atp written done. But oh we'll :(

not to be that guy but they could care less if you have a masters

although I see your point, they should get back to you! IF they don't get back soon, call them back.

Go take an ATP ride! People with the ATP done already are getting calls almost everywhere they apply. I sent out 4 applications, and had all four interviews offered right after I completed my ATP ride.

I think it simply has to do with the new rule, and the ease of the transition if they don't have to worry about you getting your ATP or failing a ride.

They'll call you first for a 145 or Q class and tell you that you should really take it because of seniority. But if you hold out you can get the mainline aircraft a few weeks later.

I wouldn't go for that carrot.

Had I bypassed a single class at my current gig, I would have gone straight into the 747 rather than been seat locked for 3 years at 84% pay. However, I'm now senior to 50+ of them because I took the earlier light twin class. If there's a hiccup in business, those 50+ numbers could make a big difference between being on the street, or not.

Does anyone know of applicants interviewing with 1200TT mins lately?

Curious if they really are interviewing applicants at 1200 and how long the time frame is to get the 1500.

Thanks in advance.

FWIW: couple months ago a new hire class on the Q was suppose to take place and 0 out of 18 showed up. Apparently most were promised a 170 and then 2 days before got called informing them that they were on the Q now. The company does this a lot! So heads up if you have accepted based on type...they can and will switch it on you.
is this still happening??

Yes, they are interviewing folks in the 1200 range.

Before this announcement, their interview minimums were 1400, and you had six months to get to ATP minimums

Under this new limit, there is no stated time frame.

Definitely wait to apply. And there are a few of us who would be happy to get to know you and recommend you, myself included.

That's an interesting way to get future candidates for a ground school.

Thanks for answering my question man!

A friend who works for Republic told me that their mentality of "come for a 145 class (and we'll give you the Q)" is translating to other parts of the company. According to him, he emails payroll every pay period and reminds them of some fees they forgot to pay.

Not sure if that's an industry thing or Republic specific, I don't work for a regional. I do have an offer from Republic, and I'll get my ATP mins in a month.

http://www.rahcontractnow.org/ <--- Has anything changed? Just curious. They sure do make Republic seem like the worst possible place to go work for.
That site is specifically geared towards trying to keep new hires from going there so take it with a grain of salt. they are hoping that by keeping people away it will force republic to change some things in the contract. I do not believe in that type if tactic, and from what I have seen and who I have spoken to in both sides, it seems a little blown out of proportion.

To me both sides seem at fault. there needs to be some give and take but both are acting too proud. there needs to be some type if happy medium, and once I am FORCED to be part of the union, I am going to speak up.

Not that I expect one voice to make any difference, but if you are going to force me to be in the u ion, you can spare the time to listen to me and work on my behalf... not just sit and wait for somebody else to make the move.

Sorry for the rant... just not a big fan of the current situation and the handling of it by either side.

First, while I'm not familiar with IBT policies, there aren't any ALPA carriers that "force" you to become a member.

Second, I don't believe you've actually begun working for Republic, and I believe it's your first airline job. Every post you've made about RAH this summer has reeked of naiveté, and it appears that you've chosen to hear what you wanted to hear about Republic and disregarded anything you deemed to be bunk. I've seen dozens of people go down the same path you're about to: from elated to disgruntled in a shockingly short timespan. Sometime this winter when you're sitting in Rapid City with a broken airplane look back at these posts. You may then understand why everybody warned you that working for Republic won't exactly be peachy.

I'm not telling you not to work there. But you need to realize that if there was anything on the RAH Contract Now website that was untrue it would have been taken down by now via lawsuit.
