118F - max RJ operating temerature

I run APU 100% of the time in the summer. It's on during the descent & on for takeoff. In DEN we are supposed to turn them off to fuel the 200, so I'll run it until the fuel man shows up & crank it back up the second he is done. Nobody likes sweaty seats.

Cost of pissed off passengers = priceless.

Is that an inc thing, or a 200 thing?

As a side note, I had one of the worst experiences of my life wrt flying commercially last night. It was in a CRJ or something like it so this is relevant :) Basically US Airways is the worst airline in the world, and their customer service is second to everyone.....or 100th. One non-refundable night at the Westin in Charlotte that I wasn't able to enjoy, one checked bag soaked all the way through (and several books, a pair or expensive leather shoes, and some nice shirts destroyed), several extremely unhelpful gate agents that took visible pleasure out of telling me that I couldn't re-book onto a more reasonable flight the next day (one of whom actually gave me the "talk to the hand" gesture), and 8 hours after my original scheduled arrival, I was home in bed. It might have been ISA+something, so this is the right thread :)

/rant.......

I live in Raleigh. Did you happen to see the weather? We had like 4-6 hours of continuous thunderstorms.

Not making excuses for Airways but it was pretty much the worst series of storms I've experienced in NC. Only 8 hours late? You did good.

Does that Canadian beer can have PCA? (and more importantly, do most of the places that said beer can is taken have PCA?)

You mean external cabin air right? If so, yeah but getting various stations to hook it up is another story. When I fly on the DCI side it is more common to be hooked up, but not so much when UAX.

Yeah, that's what I mean - I don't know why, but I've always called it PCA.

Anyhow, it's not hugely useful for the Bro since we basically run the APU all the time. But I don't think I see it hooked up all that frequently on the RJ in LAX either. (Indeed I'm not even sure that the gates have it.)

It blows the APU away. Try it sometime, you'll never want to go back.

When somebody says it won't fit, tell them to try it. If mainline United's units in Vegas and Sacramento fit (and they do), everyone's will probably fit.

Noted, thanks.

When I was a ramper for OO at LAX, the lazy folks would tell the crew that it didn't fit because they didn't want to get down on their knees and hook it up. I know it'll fit on the CRJ. I can't say for the EMB though because those were usually parked at 71A1/2 and 71B1/B2 with no air hookups. Tell the rampers to get down on their knees and make the passengers happy.
