Would be my guess. Cheapest way to start an airline is to buy the cert and everything else along with it. Even if no planes are part of the deal it is still cheaper and easier.

That's interesting. Personally, if I wanted to shuttle rich people to my resort I would have gone with something more like a King Air 350 in executive transport trim. Can't get out of the airport with much of a load. We wet leased a PenAir Saab and that was the dumbest idea ever. It couldn't serve the routes we needed it on so it took over our OGG LIH HNL flights that need all 37 dash seats
