9E TA Reached

As for hire dates....

#810 on the list is an XJ guy hired 11Sep00, #809 is a 9E guy hired 15Nov04, #811 is a 9L guy hired 22Aug05

Just dumbfounded with this news. I went through something similar when I was at Comair. For DL/PNCL it's just business. Never mind the thousands of people/families that are going to feel the aftermath. Good luck guys.

No later than Jan 17th. They want ballotting done by the 15th. That oughta tell ya right there what's up. This is a "Vote this or we're shutting you down" type thing. Honestly, if I were still there, and I said this about a year ago, I'd probably go back to pushing buttons at Disney before I'd commute to reserve as an FO. The only people that are going to make out good in this are the same management buffoons that generated the problem. The people hurt in the long run are the ones that played by the rules and did the right thing: the pilots, flight attendents and dispatchers.

If it were me, I'd torch the place just on that principle alone....

Yep. With the new DL contract and delivery of the 717s, DCI will be shrinking from last years amount by around 200-250 airframes through 2015.

Mainline is increasing airframe count by ~75.

I like the fact that mainline is increasing, however the jobs aren't increasing. Just the airframes. Even when DL starts hiring again, it won't be in the amounts it coulda/shoulda/woulda been.

You gotta vote to be able to complain. If we don't have 100% participation, it's a shame.

Exactly! During my time there, I voted on every ballot that I was eligible to vote on.
Always loved how people complained about their representation or contract, yet didn't take the few minutes to vote.

Well, they've already said all balloting, etc has to be done by Jan 15th, so less than 30 days to read it and vote. My guess? If it's voted down, Delta starts a slow wind down of Pinnacle. If it's approved, it's a slow wind down of MOST of Pinnacle. For most guys there, there result is going to be exactly the same. For the super senior lifers, well, they get to swim as big fish in the small pond a little while longer.....just like Comair.

Yeah, I could see them dangling the other 30 -900s as a carrot. Honestly, I hope no one falls for it. If Pinnacle were getting them, they would have been released with the fleet plan. Delta already knows where they're going. Anyone that thinks Pinnacle might have a shot is suffering from battered wife syndrome at this point. They should leave and go to their mom's house, but really. Delta might change for real this time.

I'm just thankful that I can watch this horror from a distance. I feel for all my brothers and sisters still there.

I think you are right. Delta has their fleet plan in place and I doubt 9E is not a part of it (with the exeption of the 'new' 40 -900s). Still not sure why Delta is taking 16 -900s and then giving 9E 40 -900s.

I'll be happy to pass along resumes if and when Silver starts hiring again if anyone from 9E is interested.

Want to explain to me how adding 75 airplanes won't increase the amount of bodies? The workrules in the TA were staffing neutral to about 200 less pilot positions, depending on who you ask.

The problem is mainline staffing is higher per airframe but not high enough to counter the disparity in RJ jobs lost. 75 vs 200+ is a net loss of overall pilot jobs. Not knocking the messenger. Just pointing out the issue when getting down to the "numbers"

You are absolutely right that the overall amount of "pilot" jobs will be lower. Capacity is remaining basically neutral, but with larger airplanes. At least higher paying jobs will be coming back to the industry. When the TA was signed, it was obvious there was going to be carnage at the regionals. The fact is, the regionals were way way overgrown- particularly with how much they overbought the 50 seaters to screw the mainline pilots in the early 2000's.

The problem with bubbles is that they have to pop from time to time... we all knew this one was coming for some time.

Very sorry to hear this news but not at all surprised. I was nervous when I sent in my letter of resignation but now have no doubt that I made the correct decision. I would love nothing more than for that place to burn to the ground but feel for the good people who get crapped on. Stay strong ladies and gents.

I just keep telling myself that at least I've always hated working here. Just hope I don't have to go all the way to plan B or C. ExpressJet please call!

Come on.

They're self-financing. They're saving our bacon!

10 points if you can name the rep that said that.

Don't u think express jet is going to lose a Ton of planes with the united TA?

Don't wanna get too far off topic but its basically only place hiring that has a handful of bases commutable for me and I need to take whatever I can get to keep flying because I'm still shy of ATP mins. Compass is my #1 choice but not possible without 1,500 TT. And who's to say ExpressJet won't get swaps for 76-seaters?

Would like to add I got the call today. Going to schedule in January when awards come out tomorrow. Thanks to the protips from JCers my book was updated and AirlineApps finished within a day of the announcement. Sucks to be the guys sitting in crew room still totaling their logbooks and justifying not getting out of here yet. Thanks Derg jtrain609 and all the other people who have passed along good advice!
