Republic

Wow. I could see going with ATP minimums but 1500 fixed wing? That's a little rough

That is a bit ridiculous, but they want to be competitive with what others have as their hiring minimums.
Only about 1 in 4 show up for their first ground school class. The company is hurting to get people in here.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what your saying, but are you saying most, if not all of the airlines, are saying 1500 fixed wing? Because everything I've ever seen is 1500 total time.

So let's say a person posseses an ATP certificate with airplane multiengine land rating. Said person has 900TT in airplanes, and 700TT in rotorcraft, for a total of 1,600TT. This wouldn't be acceptable? I think if a person has stuck with it long enough to possess an ATP, they at least somewhat know what they are doing. Obviously there are exceptions.

Those requirements are still a bit of a wish list. But then again 1500tt is not a lot of time either, I had 2500/300ME/and prior t-prop... The lowest timer in my class was about 1000tt and that was before the mins went back up.

Me to.... I think there's another guy on here that is Dynamic to another regional.
I flew with a guy who had an interview there. Was seriously debating not going. Had a couple friends there as well (Dynamic). So I guess if you see dollar signs it's good but I was surprised to hear he was seriously considering not going.

Sept 29th 2012 and a ton of folks hit the streets with well over those mins

True, but how many of those furloughed Comair guys are going to want to start at the bottom of another regional, on first year pay? My guess is a lot of the more senior guys may throw in the towel altogether.

Folks say this, but what are they going to do? Take 20 years of experience flying RJ's and go sell shoes for a living?

Just a guess but I would say 30% retire, 40% enjoy unemployment while waiting on mainline to hire, 20% start over at another regional, 10% go part 91 or 135. Again just a guess.

Dynamic to Republic? I'd love to know that story.

Just guessing, but I figure he/she is tired of the sandbox rotation, wants to make a career at the majors, and needs some 121 jet time to make their application more attractive.

A lot of FOs will probably come here... But you still have FedEx, Spirit, USair, Hawaiian, FlightSafety, Airwis, PSA, Skywest, Expressjet, Cathay Pacific, Etihad, Qatar, and Emirates all hiring in some form or another, all who pay better than we do for the first few yrs. The Comair captains still have options at least.

+1

They also just need a 121 job to stay current while waiting out the hiring at the majors that "should" be relatively soon.

Exactly, I was one of those guys. There is a reason it pays such good money out there.... It was a great adventure and met awesome guys/gals but it isn't the safest thing to do.
Dynamic was a great company that I hated to leave but for career growth it is needed and if things go south I can try and get back in there easily.
