Airline coffee

Due respect...my Embraer airplanes are old, but none of them smell like rancid lavatory.

It's probably marginally better where you work; your airplanes hold still long enough to be cleaned. That doesn't mean they clean them, of course, but at least they have the opportunity. :)

I'm referring to the ones working the DL codeshare. We park out in the styx and it's like pulling teeth trying to get a lav service in places like JFK, LGA and DTW. Or air, or GPU, or catering, for that matter! The rest of our planes are ok.
 
In my experience, mostly corporate as a mechanic, disinfecting the entire potable water system is a regularly scheduled event. Takes 8-10 hrs. and probably a 3-6 mo. frequency. With the amount of people and turns that 121 airplanes do I would be suprised if they don't have a similar requirement.

Ah. Well, I feel your pain, at Big Hub International we sometimes have trouble with any and all of these things. The outstations are awesome though.
 
I usually think all airline coffee is watered down. Same goes for hotel coffee. This might have something to do with me drinking a straight chicory blend for two years though.

Cream and sugar is for nancies.

We had this instant coffee on a civilian sub-service in and out of JFK...awful, dreadful stuff. Didn't help that the R1 FA would constantly put too much instant mix in. But, before an 0500L landing after a 2 legger from South America, I kept 'em coming. I can still taste it...*shudder*

And that has nothing to do with KLB and X-Forces hitting the clubs in Miami.

Throw a filter pack in the carafe, then press the brew button.


Delicious.

Heh, kills me when you know all the lavs are supposed to be dumped at the hub and you pull the plunger and it's so full it fills the hose all the way back up to the dump port.

Actually, the caffeine in soda doesn't do much of anything for me.....and I try to avoid sugar as much as possible. Coffee, on the other hand, ZING......and I drink that black as possible (as black as my soul). :D
