Help!!Trying break into a Jet or King Air corporate world.

As previously mentioned it is all about networking! A year or two at a turbine-operating 135 freight outfit (eg AMF) would not be a bad move at all. With your times, you'd probably be a shoe-in.

Good luck

Best advice I can give is just be likeable. The best jobs are never advertised, and no one wants to work with a tool bag.

I just started my first real corporate job,and I can tell you it's not because of my logbook, it's because I was a drinking buddy with the CA. I haven't been out here a week and I've already picked up KA and citation contract work because of my buddy vouching for me.

Long story short: right place, right time, and don't be a prick.

I have been doing survey work all over the usa and right now in canada.

If you're not a good guy to be on the road with for weeks at a time then i feel bad for your sensor operator. (which I'm sure you're not) Hey let us know how it goes! I'm a fellow survey guy myself with some conquest time looking for the same endeavor in a year or two. It would be encouraging and inspiring to see a fellow survey driver make it in the corporate world. (All i hear is if you have no 135 or 121 time your chances are slim.)

Now I feel dumb I was looking at them and MAC and ACC Picking up the family and moving would be tough for a year gig. Don't get me wrong I will move for any position that would be more long term.
I'm in a sort of similar boat as you, wanting to eventually join the 91 or 91K world, but I have a family and can't just pick up and move across the country for a year just to build some time at a 135 operator. Especially not making $25k a year. Yeah, I know, I picked the wrong career! Let us know how it works out for you.

Not a problem and thank you. I just keep applying over and over hoping I will get something soon.
As the economy comes back requirements will relax. You can try personally walking into some corporate flight departments with your resume as you fly around the country with your survey job. Corporate is interesting. Sometimes you just need to be sitting around the airport and you will find a good job. i was offered a King Air 90 contract job just by talking to people in the FBO. Obviously me rolling in in a BE-99 helped but the idea is still there.

I know someone else that went right from instructing into a decent corporate job at my home airport. Flies a Cheyenne III and Diamond Jet now. He got the job from networking and constantly working to get the job when the position opened up. He started with just doing part time contract flying with them and then pushed for the full time position.

I do want to thank you for asking. Some people either don't know enough to ask, or just don't care who they step on to get what they want.

Guess I should change out of my jeans and tshirt before opening the conquest door. :O
