PNCL Files Chapter 11

I haven't read the bloch award but I would guess fences only apply to voluntary bids, not displacement bids. But I would ask your union rep or P2P.

On an unrelated note, I thought the Qs were profitable... Certainly I am not seeing the logic on the Mainline side of getting rid of them with oil above $100.

The Q's won't be leaving the United system, just leaving Colgan/ PNCL. I'm sure they'll be an announcement shortly. Goodluck to everyone. It's always something in this business.

So if I understand correctly, by the time all this shakes out. Colgan pilots will push out the already trained crj200 pilots and they will be saved/ trained on the 200, yet the 9e pilots will be put out on the streets. So the furloughing will begin the day the Saabs start parking.

Everybody needs to stop thinking of people as Colgan, Mesaba and Pinnacle pilots.

Unless I am entirely mistaken, there is one company, and one list.

And for you guys that are claiming that Colgan pilots are stealing "your" Pinnacle seats, knock it off so you don't look like a total bag in front of the guys that would help you get your next job.

Not sure how that is going to save them money but if it's true that there is not going to be out of seniority furloughs then that would be the case.

Pretty easy to say. Not very easy to do.

I just received word that the fences will stand even in the case of displacement. Jet ca positions will be scarce for cjc guys. I doubt the memphis mafia would allow us to pass training anyway.

This is not helpful.

Being furloughed sucks, guys, I've been there, as have a lot of other people.

But don't be angry at your coworkers, be angry at the management group that brought you here. Being pissed at the folks you have to work with will get you nowhere.

What's that mean for furlough numbers? It wouldn't just be CJC guys getting the boot, would it?

How does it not save money if you don't have to train 100's of pilot to transition to rj's versus leaving the pilots that are currently trained/flying the rj

It would be a lot different work place if we operated as "one" company, but lets face reality

I think you misunderstood/I didn't explain myself properly. I was saying that if we don't furlough out of seniority this is going to cost the company more money and not make sense to present to a judge to show that you are making strides to be more viable.

Trying to save a sinking ship with a red party cup. It hasn't been happening for a long time. maybe a few years at best. The fair hikes have been a stop leak measure, not a prevent leaks measure. Fairs have been artificially low for years now, and IMO, this is going to be to little to late for many companies.

Artificially cheap yes but why? It's not because the airlines created their own fare wars. It's because supply was much greater than demand and high fares were unsustainable. Now that seats in the market place have been decreased and consolidation has inevitably occurred, higher fares and profits are attainable.

What we're seeing in the regional industry largely parallels what we've seen happen to airfares. There were too many regional carriers created to capture a quick buck off outsourced flying. Now the legacies have no reason to make contracts profitable because the regional carriers are hungry for a buck. Inevitably we see consolidation and possible liquidation of some of those carriers. Furthermore, the legacy carriers are getting a little bullish on the economy and see this as an opportunity to "grow" down the road which is really another word for reaquiring what they already gave up. A public company can't shrink forever. In the long term you either grow or disappear.

This is why I went cargo. The rise and fall of Pinnacle happened very quickly.

Good luck!

Totally and completely inappropriate post. Remember the decimation in little freight a few years ago. You never know when it will be your turn.

Good luck to the ~740ish out the door, and the balance left with a sack of crap.

Kind of like what the regionals do to their pilots. It's coming full circle.

I would have said something like "Don't worry, you're next up." But that's mean and non-optimistic.

Good luck, welcome to the party and if you must go down, go down swinging.

I know they were giving up the Boston EAS routes long prior to this announcement, but are there any other EAS routes they are going to give up?
