The joys of parenthood....

Had a lot of fun the other night with my 4 & 6 year old daughters....The wife and put them to bed in our room for the night then setup their new bunk beds.

Sending them down in the morning to see the new bed set was like watching Christmas all over and/or a MC commerical

Bunkbeds .....a bunch $$$
Aleve for the sore muscles $8
See the kids so excited...Priceless

BTW after a month the youngest is finally over the Norro virus...
Yeah, funny how they are amused by simple things. To bad the box was not bigger that the bed came in.

When they get a bit older try Phineas and Ferb on the Disney channel. I love me some Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated!
My son made me sit through the Phineas and Ferb movie. Sorry, I can't take more than 30 minutes of it... but I guess it does beat watching "The Barney Movie" and "Spirit" for the 20th time.

So more teenage girl joys to look forward to. Thought I would do something different for Winter Break- why not drive up to Toronto with the kids (wife had to work)? Okay, maybe I should have gotten a notarized letter from my wife saying I had her permission to take the kids to Canada. Okay, so maybe it's a little suspicious that we live in New York but have Texas plates. But when the Border Patrol agent asks my daughter if Mom knows I am taking them to Canada does she really have to respond, "Whatever" and try to roll up the window because she's cold???? For just one minute while we are crossing the border can she at least pretend she's having fun and I'm not some psycho man who has kidnapped her??? She was always polite before becoming a teenager... what happened? Was she abducted by aliens who left a psychotic, malfunctioning Borg probe in her place???

Phineas and Ferb has kinda grown on me. I absolutely LOVE the Penguins of Madagascar! Even Spongebob is actually pretty damn funny if you actually sit & listen to it.

Little Einsteins, Calliou, and the Teletubbies make me want to stick needles in my eyes. Thomas Train got to be really, really annoying, too.

I was laying in bed the other day, wife had already gone to work and everything was quiet on the monitor and thought I heard the pitter-patter of little feet. I assumed I was dreaming. The girls are 16 months and still in a crib, so I roll back over and snooze a bit.

Little while later... I hear pitter-patter again.. The neighbors are building a new garage. "Maybe the hammering is playing games with my head.."

Finally, there is some life on the baby monitor.. Get up to go get the girls out of their cribs and one of my daughters greets me in the living room..

The girls are into some pretty good cartoons for me. The love the classic Warner Bros stuff (bugs, taz, road runner, etc), Penguins of madagascar, Scooby, Muppets, and they do love some Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated and Johnny Test...

Did they really climb out of the thing!?

I had to put a crib tent on our little guy's crib when he was 13 months old. I swear he is part monkey, and could very easily climb out of it. He was NOT ready for a toddler bed yet, so on went the zip-up crib tent, and he got zipped in every night til he was old enough for his toddler bed.

Did they really climb out of the thing!?

Yep..

I picked her up, plopped her back in the crib and said "Show me how you got out.."

Boom.. Done..

I put them down for a nap a few days ago and was in the kitchen making some lunch when something grabbed my leg. Scared me to death. It was my acrobatic daughter, Piper. ;)

Kids are friggin awesome. I love them.

Maybe even have a teenage daughter of her own... no, not one. That would not be enough punishment. Several teenage girls at once. Yeah. That's it.
I used to work with a Loadmaster for Connie that had triplet girls. He said it was nice "getting everything out of the way at once." I don't recall how old they were at the time but I think it was younger.
I asked her once why she seems to go out of her way to PO Mom. She responded that it's kind of her hobby to her and she gets a level of satisfaction from watching Mom get spooled up.
Man, had I ever had the balls to say that to my Dad I would've soon had a very bad day. You did not mess with the Big Chief's Woman in my house. I knew if I ever got her to cuss is was bad news when my Dad got home.

My daughter started watching the Shaun the Sheep on Netflix...it's absolutely hilarious...I'll watch it even when she's not awake. She loves Dora the Explorer and Go Diego G0 too, those are her go to shows. My wife and I are trying to steer her into Veggie Tales, but for whatever reason, the opening credits send her into fits of terror and she starts shaking she's so scared...we're confused...we think maybe it's that they have no arms to speak of?

The VeggieTales characters are a little odd. Good stories, good message, but weird looking characters.

Shaun the Sheep is awesome! SpongeBob is funny if you listen to it, and the Penguins of Madagascar is the BEST cartoon out there right , I think. Phineas & Ferb are pretty funny too. Ren & Stimpy rock, but it's not really appropriate for kids...

Space Ghost, Coast to Coast?

Space Ghost, Coast to Cost...funny story there. I was maybe 12 and flipping through TV one night and came across it. Had no idea what it was, etc, my mom walked in and flipped the hell out...scarred me for the life man.
