Anyone else catch that tower called traffic for him as he was starting a flare? If it's going to be a problem on takeoff, why not just cancel takeoff clearance once he touches? Seriously, that's just a bad idea. I would also say that it is within your realm to ignore that radio call until you have the wheels on the ground, or are in a go-around. Focusing on landing is a bad time to be doing radio calls.

The tower called the wrong N-#, it was meant for someone else

Cool, POC is a good little airport. We took our Lear 60 in and out of there once for the owner.... We didn't do it again.

I was just in POC yesterday. And POC is only 4800ft. Also right on take off you have to avoid the houses on the ridge.

Splitz, what did you use to mount the go pro?

ProudPilot Ya pretty much that. There is a displaced threshold landing 26 and rising terrain landing 8. The terrain makes 8 almost impossible and the displaced threshold makes 26 a little too interesting. We did it but decided its a pretty good idea to just have them drive to ONT. The 60 is a runway hog.

samstanton I feel ya regarding the 8s at POC. I was actually pleased they switched to the 26s after I took off. Skimming low over the houses, even some higher then you on that hill, on landing while having an on glide vasi is not the business.

smack300 I used the GoPro industrial suction mount and mounted it on the maintenance plate. I was gonna tie a string to it but realized I'd much rather lose the camera should it fall off than having it pound against the wing in the slipstream.

ProudPilot Yeah, one reason I record some of my flights is to see the mistakes I make. I realize now that it wasn't a wise idea to make that radio call on the round out. But back then I thought I'd help out since I thought I pretty much got the landing nailed.

Ajax BU I have a splitter cable the plugs into the mic with the other end plugged into a digital voice recorder. Then I synch the audio in iMovie.

smack300 I used a splitter cable the went in the mic plug and the other end has a 3mm jack that plugged into a digital tape recorder. Then I synch the audio during editing. The GoPro Hero 2 has a mic input jack.

Nader Thanks!

splitzkreen03 where did you get the splitter cable? I've got a 1/4 to 3.g male to female respectively but I think I'm limited to the cable I used. I might need to just buy a regular one
