A year in the life of a ASA/Xjet new hire

Are you guys getting passed on for upgrades by 2010 new hires as well?

It's awesome to have a discussion with a 2010 new hire talk about upgrading..

Eh, seniority, who needs it.

Thank you, Bloch.

2010?? not on the EMB...im a 2007 hire and still at least 6-8 months away.

John I think that number is gunna shoot down after this hiring boom....if it doesn't end up like Eagle....

I hear that from a lot of folks, but looking at the numbers, I don't think it's as quick as some folks think.

We just announced another 48 upgrades for April and May, so let's make the math easy and say that we're going to upgrade 48 every 2 months for the next few years. After this upcoming system bid I'll be around 500 from upgrade, and I have around 500 people below me, putting me halfway there. With 24 upgrades a month, that's 20.8 months to get to upgrade, or a little under 2 years. Call it a solid 2 years until I'm in the left seat after training.

I think that's a best case scenario. All it takes is one little hiccup and things come crashing down around us. Call me a pessimist being that I've already had it happen once, but I don't think things are as amazingly amazing as some guys around here think.

They are hiring on the EMB.

I'm pessimistic as well, I was furloughed after a week! But if they hire the 500 or so this year, they are projecting a lot of movement.

Things can and will change in a flash, four months ago I was at most 6 months away from upgrade now I hope just to have a job in 6 months.
