All our 145s have the new brakes but in the 135s with the same brakes as TSAs 145s it can cut down on the landing roll by 1000-1500 feet. You can also stop the planes with just TRs if need be.
The CRJ will slow to a stop with the reverses, just as long as the runway is loooong and up sloping.

No they can interview, they should be given a job without a interview and maybe DOH. As far as not getting a ride to work, just ask porn star Tony how many times my planes jumpseat has been MELed when he needed a ride.[/quote]

Right, because lying about something that isn't broken is classy enough. You're cool!

If the O2 is low, the jumpseat is considered inop. How is that lying?

Who said I worked at GoJet? I sure didn't.

I think this is the best GoJet thread I have seen since I have been a member here. That being said, if GoJet would have only hired old United Furloughs, Don't know if that would have even been possible back in '05, I don't think they would have the same stigma about them. I don't think I would turn a JSer down who was asking for a ride to or from work just because he works at G7, but I don't think I would respect them, unless they were a United Furlough.

IMHO it has more to do with how they treated their sister company than hiring United furloughs. If Colgan had been growing while Pinnacle was furloughing but Pinnacle pilots were not offered a place on the Colgan seniority list (and NOT on the bottom as a new hire), then Colgan would have the same stigma. Thankfully, that never happened, and with our new contract, it won't. Sadly, TSAGoJetsCompass are still three separate companies under one corporate umbrella, so we're seeing the same thing happening again: TSA furloughing, Go Jets growing.

Think it would have gone over well if Delta and NWA were kept separate post-merger, NWA started furloughing because DC-9s were getting parked but Delta was hiring because of new 777 deliveries? Never would know because the kind of backstabbing that goes on at the regional level is not near as prevalent at the majors....

If DL was hiring while NWA furloughed in that scenario, the house would still be on fire.

Totally.

Usair? CAL/UAL is a c hair away, the roll over of UAL guys to CAL is keeping that FIRE at bay. The staple job at AA from TWA?? I guess you were being sarcastic?

And how well are any of those going? US Air is about to implode because they still haven't ironed things out. AA and TWA have bad blood a decade later. Hell, NWA and Republic are still at each others throats, and neither airline even exists anymore. While it's true that there have been screw jobs at the majors, IMHO, it's nothing compared to how badly some regional guys will step on each others' necks just to fly an RJ for a fraction of the pay and even worse QoL than the majors.....just so they can maybe upgrade quicker and move on. I don't have to look any further than some of the rhetoric that came from my own airline during the Mesaba/Colgan integration. "Oh, we bought Mesaba, so we should get a ratio merger instead of DOH." "They screwed us over in 1997, so it's our turn." "We should take their jets, ratio merger Mesaba and staple Colgan." The flat out irony of the whole situation is guys that were going to upgrade within months at 9E are now looking at another year or so while Colgan guys hired within the past two years are getting upgraded.

Yes, there are still screw jobs at the majors, but IMO it's not as gut wrenching as the regionals. Maybe it's because the wages and benefits at the major level make it easier to swallow. I don't know. It just seems the whipsaw machine works so much faster at the regional level. Mesabe/Big Sky, Skywest/XJT , Freedom/Mesa and TSA/GoJets. At least Freedom and Mesa finally wound up on the same seniority list, but there was some serious negotiating capital sacrificed just to maintain things they already had to accomplish that.

Why do I keep hearing rumors that GoJet is not able to staff the new planes and the bid they won is now in jeopardy?

Well, because that is exactly what is going on.

Regarding staffing.

Not sure if the agreement is really in jeopardy, and as an EV pilot I wouldn't count on us keeping those airframes beyond this summer.

Because you read the Crack Pipe.

Ah the XJT forum. Heard of it but never read it. Just googled it though and first link that came up is hilarious. XJT has a pilot who is a white rapper trying to become "hood famous"?

Very interesting. How can they struggle to find just 120 pilots?

Issue has been more related to having Captain qualified pilots. Reference their CQFO (Captain Qualified First Officer) job postings of recent.

Is this tied to the rumor on the pipe that we're not going to have any furloughs at ASA now? It's from a good source!!!11
