For those in the pool...
Last page is showing 90 new hires.
12 FOs for the Q400 in EWR, the rest are Saab positions in CRW, IAH, and IAD.
I hope everybody got something thy are happy with
Nope...
60+ Captain positions awarded to pilots junior to me on the list.
Majority of them because Bloch decided that 9E pilots can't touch the Saab for 5 years...
Quick question.....I got my second choice(Q400 EWR FO) but my first choice is JFK FO (currently Saab FO in IAD). Will this be updated on a daily basis until the 23rd? (so I should just sit and wait because I may still get my first choice?). Thx!
You may have only be able to hold the Q under the vacancy process( which is what it was since you werent displaced) just because theres alot of JR pilots who were displaced to it doesnt mean you can hold it... They have different rights. Sorry if I amnot getting what you mean
It seems quite a few FOs Junior to me are being displaced to my first choice, JFK FO. Since I didnt get my first choice(Im actually pretty happy with getting my second, dont want to sound ungrateful), Im wondering how that works. Wouldnt I be awarded JFK before someone junior to me is displaced there? Especially since most of the displacements to JFK are 'worse' displacements.
Also, could I still get my first choice(JFK FO) since there will obviously be people emailing FS to withdraw from the awards? Does this award come out daily with changes until the final award? Thx guys.
The way the award goes is all the vacancys are handled first. So if there were a limited number of jfk fo spots and you couldnt hold it then you won't get it. After all vacancies are done they then go through all the displacements. It is possible people may turn their award down so I would go buying a house or anything at you current awarded position. A lot can happen by the final award.
They can't turn down the displacement but I believe they can change where they will be displaced toThis. Also keep in mind displaced pilots cannot turn down their award.

A displaced pilot can't do anything to change where they're being displaced to, however, when the final shuffle occurs the company could displace them to a different position (either higher or lower in preference).
Sure they can... if they are senior to the most junior guy going to a more desirable aircraft/base, they can have that on file as their "primary bid" (ie, bid 2, bid 1 being the displaced position), and when the final comes out, they should get that position... Seniority rules...
Right, but the bids closed already so a pilot can't change the order of their preferences at this point. The only thing happening right now is pilots who are awarded a voluntary vacancy can withdraw from the process. This could change where a displaced pilot could go. So, at this point, there is no action that a displacement could take to affect their award.
I think someone senior can still volunteer for a displacement for a short window as well.
I would have been able to hold MEM 200 CA again, but I'd have been 2nd from the bottom. No thanks.
