Kalitta 727 FO

I don't know. I'm always do reserve and hope to avoid SDF. Try to avoid ONT, too. I fact, I try to avoid work in general. hehe

How do they do that under 121? I thought 24/7 reserve for 121 went away after the Whitlow interpretation?

Yeah...somehow us 121 supplemental guys are immune to fatigue, and can be safely roused at 2am after a couple hours of sleep to operate an 18 hour duty day.

No joke! "One level of safety."

Lol, if I ever get a long layover in ONT i'll send you an email and grab a crew car.

Ahh! Thanks for da info, yo.

News on the jumpseat thingy?

No problem. It gets confusing with three Kalitta airlines running around. Two of them have the same call sign.

Mum is the word on the Jumpseat thing. I will have to send another email to JSC and see what is up.

My girlfriend got hired on a B727F as FO with 350/100

Lucky there....It wasn't with Kalitta. They currently don't have any female pilots or FE's

18 hours...that is a short day. Normally it is up all day then get called out at 11pm to start a 20+ hour trip. But the FAA says it's safe since it is just boxes... I sure wish congress would get off their buts and get the office of OMB and get the bill moving. So far the new regs are stalled in OMB as it may be too expensive for the ailrines. Seems like the lobbyists win again....

Why are there two Kalitta 121 companies?

Just curious.

There are three and three seperate operating certificates

Kalitta Charters (Lears, Falcons, King Air's) Part 135 non-union

Kalitta Air (747-100's, 200's, 400's) Part 121 supplimental teamsters

Kalitta Charters II (727's & DC-9's) Part 121 supplimental non-union

If I had to guess, it is for legal or regulation issue.

Turnover is not high at all. A lot of pilots have been here for over 5 years. They are just getting to a better staffing level. 16 straight isn't that bad as you get a 12 off at the end and can go do a lot of stuff with the family or friends. There's nothing better than going to a water park, amusement, etc on a Tuesday morning and having the place to yourself.

There currently are no female pilots or FE on the 727 or dc9.

A friend that I flew with at the canyon just upgraded there on the 727. Looks like I might have to make a phone call!

How many are they hiring? I'm assuming with a 24/7 on call for 16 straight turnover is high?

I prefer big blocks of days on because when I'm off, I want to be off and not have to think about the job.
