What is your favorite low budget plane?

What would you buy if you had an extra $50k-$75k to spend on a plane for your own personal use?

Bonus points for posting pics!

Hmm... Well if I won $75k and it had to be spent on aviation. I suppose I might choose one of the following:

Mooney M20F. Quick and efficient. Still runs on the 360 engine. Good for 2 people and some bags.

Piper Saratoga. I'd be stretching the $75k about as far it'd go trying to get one of these.... Good traveling plane for the family.

Rotorway helicopter. I want to learn how to fly helicopters and $75k won't buy me a Schweizer....

Haha! A piper saratoga and pretty much ANY helicopter is going to be much more than 50k!

J3 Cub.

Paper!

I'd save the money and occasionally rent when I got the wild hair.
 
50-75k is low budget? Buy a 25k pacer or TriPacer, and spend the rest on gas.

You can get a champ for 20k or less, with the O-200, and the only difference you'll notice is how much faster it climbs. Cubs have become too expensive simply because they are called cubs.

For 50k, I'd get a decathlon. Get a vfr only super D for less than 75 as well.
 
Not necessarily low budget, but if I ever get the money, I'm buying an Aircam. I've wanted one since I first saw it. Twin, low, slow and tailwheel. You can takeoff on one engine. Put floats on the thing.

Guess I will have to be a bit biased with my selection since I already own a low budget airplane.

But, if I had to choose one other than what I already have, I would seriously look at a Super Viking.
