yes, I just won a green card and I would like to know where it 's the best to start for someone who has 2000h/500multi , FAA ATP,CFII.

I don't work for peanuts, like in the commuter(1500$ !!! I am not nut)
preferably part 135, light turbine/jet/king air.netjet,...

I will not pay for my training, I can sign for 1-2-3 years contract.

where is my best bet?

I don't have any direct leads for you, but I think that you are certainly looking at the right kind of jobs (bolded quote above), and I agree that you should not have to pay for your training. Our operation flies light/medium corporate jets Part 135 (and 91), and our minimums for an F/O (if we were hiring) are 2,000 hours. We pay for a full PIC type rating for all our pilots. A light jet/turboprop operator are exactly what you need I think.

The diversity lottery!

Congratulations!

For our anti-immigration friends, the diversity lottery represents some 50,000 immigrants every year, randomly selected from many, many more applicants. It is open only to people from countries which have low rates of immigration to the US. Mexico is excluded, as is my home. Please remember that this is bringing in people who work hard, pay taxes, and contribute culture to a country built on legal immigration.

Remember, this is 50,000 of the estimated 1 million LEGAL immigrants each year, (and an estimated 10M+ illegal immigrant population).

thank you for the background...I figured it was something like that.

Welcome to the US "lemonaide", you really did win the lottery!

As your last sentence alludes to, there's a difference between those who are anti-immigration, and those who are anti-illegal immigration. The US needs immigrants in it's population....heck, the country was built on it. We just need to be able to account for those who come here and have it done on our terms. Congrats to all new legal immigrants who do come here, and welcome.

hi guys,

thanks for all your answers.

no, this is serious. here the link:https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/application.aspx
The green card is called Diversity Visa, and last day I entered my application number and discover that I have been selected for further processing with the immigration/US embassy for a residence permit.
In USA you have 2 ways to enter legally, get married or Diversity Visa(green Card).Sure I don't agree with this system.the USA don't want skilled people, they want lottery winers or people who get married for true or fake!Anyway, I am a pilot, not a politician, as I have spent lot of money in the USA already and gave you job,Now I take my wining ticket(time for payback!!!)!

I am fully aware that some peole will hate me to death, the same people who came to the USA years ago(when the doors were fully open and new immigrants were welcome) , and closed their doors to new immigrants with ridiculous laws but had to keep an opening with some funky lotteries before their population become too old or too "mexican"(this is why it's called DIVERSITY Visa).

If you ask me: "why don't you stay in your country?" In Europe, we have a new system called line training, and I belive it will kill this profession.

By chance The FAA prohibid this system, they want their airline pilots being paid unlike europe where you pay 150'000 for a CPL and type rating then another 30'000 euro for 500h line training.

Let's go back to Business, don't you mind?

I have studied in the USA, and got my FAA certificates years ago, and then I left the USA for greener, yellow, and very brown pastures.NowI am coming back, and discover what you did since my departure (14.3 T in debt?)how you did that? can you just stop spending? gosh!

I start to give a look what is around:

Eeagle and others: 4-6 legs a day, low pay salary. Not my cup of tea, rating on EMB seems exciting, 16 hours in a cockpit without any extra pay.
Cargo: 2000-3000$, fedex, UPS,...
national Airlines: forget about it.
Instructors: low paid but lot of fun!
netjet and other: netjet 2500h so I am short with my TT, I belive many want join them.

I ask myself if I should work as a flight instructor, then wait for these airlines to increase their slave salary, how guys survive with this? don't you have any respect for yourself???
or I go cargo directly on light turbine?

I would like to know where are the places with more job opportunities, LA?, Miami?
I will not pay for my training. I am not desperate as I am not a 200h TT pilot anymore.

Fly safe!!! (if you are flying)

You might be waiting a long time...... lots of American youngsters are willing to enslave themselves with 50K+ in debt just to fly a barbie jet

Good Luck

sure, but I believe in 2012 all 121 pilots must have ATP.
The time of desperate pilots eating tuna sandwiches in their airline cockpit is over.
Maybe guys with 1500h will be already fedup and will look for a well paid job by not accepting money after their 3-4 years of slavery wage as a CFI, resulting in a 1500h pilot shortage in the USA.

I believe that a fresh pilot can not find a job as the ultimatum is near.
If i was a recruiter, i would worry now!

Politics is holding all of this up.... until the FAA reauthorization act is passed the house and senate, it isn't law and in this country if its not a law yet, it doesn't mean anything because it can be changed in one of many committees in congress on a whim.

thank you.
this is why the DHS is calling me back!
we need to go back to principle: freedom, egality, justice!

promote jobs worldwide, exchange ideas, respect of foreigners, accept immigrants and give them the freedom to work, I belive it cost more to stop people to be free than letting them work.

If you look at corrupt countries, they are not free! the worst one are north Korea and Birma.

A few months ago I was in an US embassy to renew my CFI ,I needed the form to be notarized.
there was a 65yo US guy asking for something and was not able to get what he wanted, because they say they refuse Faxes, whatever...
they 65 yo guy says to other guys sitting in the room:" this is NOT america!!!"
another US guy replied:" you are wrong, THIS is america"...

back to this new "law"
they have one year to get their 1500 hours.
example:a guy with 500h in jan 2012, has few chance to be hired. If he flies 70h a month, and one month not flying : 70x11=770+ 500=1270h. not enough, they need to hire pilots with 800h or more. I would say 1000h min in 2012 to be sure to get the 1500h in 2013. (plus the problem of night time, X country,...)

in part 135 , 1200h is required, I think asking 1500h for a copilot transportings hundred of souls is reasonable.Keep in mind regional planes are bigger like the EMB JET.

Delicious....tuna sandwich! You should apply 135 if you don't like 121 because Netjets and similar companies are not hiring. Last time I looked Netjets had about 500 pilots on furlough due to lack of customers in our current economic recession.
