Which ATP location?

60% of the time it works every time!
I'm looking to do my ATP and wondering which location would be the best to do it at. Is any one location better than the other as far as instructors, examiners, pass/fail rates go?
 
If it so standardized how can one location be better then the other? I'm going to Tampa this week and cross my fingers its as good as they say. For me it's all about the instructor. I pray my experience in Tampa will be as good is the GKY cheerleaders on this board had.

Better management. Yeah it is standardized, but there aren't the same managers running all of the locations.
 
I just saw they raised the prices up for CA and NY. Why is that other locations are cheaper? :(

I imagine because of the high costs (rent and fuel) in these locations, it kind of kills their one simple price thing they had going for them though.
 
GKY huh? I was really thinking about going to Riverside since I have friends at UC Riverside and I could have fun when I'm done flying. Anyone have anything to say about Riverside's location?

I heard the practice area is dangerous as hell and visibility from pollution frequently cancels flights.
 
ATP PHX I think is the best one. They have a maintenance facility there so plane availability wasn't really a problem. Chief Pilot there runs a tight ship and is just a great guy to talk to when you have any problems. Best of luck.
 
ATP's chief pilot resides in Jacksonville, FL. Hands down, best location. IMO. They are all slightly different.

I've been to many.. Currently instruct at one..

Phoenix location is the best for career students.

You have to be kidding me! :laff: First of all every practice area is dangerous, the nice thing about RAL is there is more than 1 practice area to choose from, so if one is to crowded head to another one. And also, I instructed there for almost 2 years and never cancelled a flight due to your so called air pollution, that's a joke.
I think RAL is a great location to train at; its a maintenance base so if things break they get fixed quickly, You are only minutes away from every type of airspace you can fly into and its BUSY so it forces you to think quick and acquire great radio skills, and you get the marine layers (that's clouds & fog) not pollution to get some actual IFR flying in...trust me you will never get actual out in PHX or most the other locations.
 
I'm currently looking into ATP's Airline Career Pilot Program but I'm wondering out of Jacksonville or Daytona which one is better? Is there a best "main" campus for ATP? Are any ATP locations part 141?
 
JAX is the only 141 location they have. If you have VA benefits you would have to go there, other than that I would avoid the JAX location.
