Which ATP location?

you can change. call em up and tell them. go to Mesa or Dallas(main). either way it will all work out. don't stress over it. enjoy your training. I'm not kidding when I say DAB will suck a few thousand for taxiing and vectoring. But its a good learning experience since you want to be an airline pilot.

How do you pay extra in a fixed pricing structure? When I was at ATP, there was no one paying extra for taxi/holding/etc..

you have a good point. Because you will waste .2-.4 of every flight flying. that time could be time spent on doing maneuvers. So if you end up needing additional training that will add up quick. bottom line is know your sh@t so you don't need extra flights and you will be good. But ATP is the master of slamming you into a check ride weather you are good or not. So he should come in within budget. I remember them siging me off thinking how did I deserve this. I felt I need another 2-3 flights. It worked out well in the end. This is pilot factory, they know what they are doing.

Whether you are good or not? No, they have a system and send you to your checkride when you're ready, even if you're apprehensive and think you're not. You passed, right?

They've been doing this for twenty years now at a fixed cost, which means they're not gonna waste your time or their money.

You'll do fine in DAB, the taxis aren't that bad. It's not JFK for Pete's sake!

JAX is the only 141 location they have. If you have VA benefits you would have to go there, other than that I would avoid the JAX location.

I found this comment interesting. Is there anyone currently at ATP JAX? How are the instructors?

Any recommendations for the North Vegas location? I'm considering going there for the CFI program, but am open to other FBOs/schools.

I would go somewhere other than the North Vegas if given the choice. It's a tiny, • practice area, very easy to bust bravo (didn't happen to me but happened to many others), and the air conditioning really didn't work very well and it was only March and still pretty brutal on some of the hotter days. They really need a new location there, they're in a bank owned building that is falling apart... Very knowledgeable staff though.
